      ...

We all have different blind spots yes? Are you and your spouse not complementary? Do you not look out for each other's backs? It's kinda tough to go through life without folk to help you look out for things you don't necessarily see (particularly about one's own self), and call them out for you.

      Am I sensing some hostility?
nah, no hostilities intended my friend. please don't feel that way.
me agree wholeheartedly on that froggy thingy inside each of us.
in fact I agree so much so that even \"board of governors\" have it too!
      Froggy is everywhere!

We are all 'frogs' to a certain extent. Generally, we have insight into our personal behaviour, but seldom is it perfect. Like the frog, I guess we'd appreciate if someone outside the pot told us that the water was starting to boil. If we fail to take heed, then its pretty much our own fault.

Hence my reluctance to judge or cast stones at those who have demonstrated failures in morality or behaviour. In one situation or another, any of us could have exercised poor judgement and lack of insight. Their actions are not to be condoned, but that is not to say that they are to be cast to the wolves. Humans are complex beings, and seldom is one unremittingly bad or pristine white.

As I said in an earlier post, all of us could benefit from some form of 'board of governors', people who know and care about us, and help us keep on the straight and narrow.
        yeah agree.

board of governors just mean a few trusted friends who have good intentions and good life directions. šŸ™‚

If you put a frog in pot of water at room temp and start heating it up, the frog will still be happy in the pot at beginning without realizing the danger it is in. However, when the water gets warmer and then too hot to bear, it's already too late to escape. This is my interpretation of this analogy šŸ™‚

I'll bet the frog knew exactly what's happening and is not too happy about it. It's probably thinking: \"I'll get you in my next life, you nincompoop!\"

I like your analogies. What do you mean by boiling a frog?

If you put a frog in pot of water at room temp and start heating it up, the frog will still be happy in the pot at beginning without realizing the danger it is in. the frog is cold blooded, and its body temperature rises with it environment without realising it, hence being cooked unknowingly, without knowing the need to run away[/quote]What about the prawns in the druken prawn dish? The moment you on the fire - they start moving frantically - like as if trying to get out of the boiling water!! Actually - when i see this process of 'cooking' the prawn - i lose all appetite in the dish!!

Anywas - so prawn is smart than frog? Or perhaps they are drunk liao so therefore moving frantically?

                  That's frog-nature, isn't it?

To do as I want, as I wish, as I desire, as I choose to....
and when the water starts to boil,
something is wrong with society and other people.

from what is reported, this frog prob thought I'll go along with it if it doesn't go too far... after all, I'm being fed with flies regularly... then when the water got too hot, he called police (board of governors). at least this frog had police to call not like the proverbial one...

The special meaning is that your dh and I came from an era long forgotten - yeah, maybe your dh and I should get together and start catching spiders too.
