If the COP for the top 10% is 249, it means the student are pack closer between 3% to 10% range.:

Yeah, it looks like top 10% starts from 249 then. If that's the case, there won't really be much of a drop in COP for top schools, since top 10% for last year was 248(even lower than this year's). There may not be any drop in COP scores for Top schools as such. At most, only 1 or 2 point drop, or none at all.

Taking into account the top 3% COP drops 1 point to 260. Plus a slight decrease in PLSE student, 3492. This works out to less 100 student from top 3% students. This means more vacancies for those from 259 onwards in the top schools.

Since the papers are easier this year, we should expect as the T-score gets lower, the no. of students gets bigger. So the bulk of the students in the 3% to 10% will be at the 254~249 bracket.

My guess is those schools whose last year COP T-score is 254 and below will see an increase of 1 to 3 points. While those tops schools whose T-score is above 254 last year will see a drop in of 1 to 3 points.

      My 2 cents again. :D
please clarify what is the 3492

      thanks

My son got 236 but was not offered French/ German but Malay, bahasa indonesia and Arabic. I wonder he is top ? %.

Have we concluded that the mid range school will have higher cut off point this year?
My son score 230 only and he also eligible for the 3rd languange for Malay, bahasa and Arabic.

        I also wonder why? :? :? :?

          thanks
3492, hmm tomorrow's 4D winning no.?

          lol sorry joking.

          Last year cohort size 48,541
          This year cohort size 45,049
          Drop of 3492 students.
Thus top 3% also drop correspondingly by about 100.

Does the forecasted drop in cop for top schools and the smaller population of students having 255-259 mean that my son who has 255 + 2 has a high chance to get into HCI or NJC? I am thinking of putting HCI first choice and NJC second choice but NJC’s COP is higher last year without considering the bonus point.

btw, comparing HCI and NJC, which is stronger in terms of maths and science?

also, i would like my son to do Higher Chinese but NJ does not have that and the students must travel to somewhere else. may i know where?

              thks

It's compulsory for all NJC Year One students to do HCL.

I think he stands a good chance. According to the Junior High Dean, HCL is compulsory at Year 1!
