With regards to the school handbook, can don’t buy meh? that means we provide her with our own note book or diary? Unless they change the binding, I agree that it will eventually becomes salted veg (mine became that state by term 3).
Thanks -

Hi E3, I didn't notice any special queue for online orders. Maybe because we few mummies were so engrossed in our conversations. Haha!! But it was indeed very systematic yesterday.
Good to know that there was no queue! I also bought most books from Popular, but ordered the rest from Pacific. Any special queue for online order collection? Thanks.Happy Mama:
You are right!  Anyway, there wasn't any queue at all, so different from last year. Maybe because most parents have bought them from Popular (got 5% disc). Hahaha!!! -

Ermm...actually I don't remember it being a compulsory item. As long as the child has a way to jot down the \"important\" stuff, then it's good enough. In my dd's case, she wrote down everything that is important, urgent, important but not so urgent and urgent but not so important so I think a notepad is better for her cos sometimes she ran out of space to write in the handbook! :roll:With regards to the school handbook, can don't buy meh? that means we provide her with our own note book or diary? I see. Thanks, Happy Mama, for the info.

For my younger child in another school, hubby ordered & paid online for her books. Same vendor - Pacific. When I went to pick up her books, they were nicely packed in a nice compact box…like pizza. HaHaHa. Also bought the textbook covers which can be used for all textbooks and even activity books…used the covers for son’s textbooks instead.
School handbook quality is rather lousy…mine here became salted veg in Term 2 as the paper is of poor quality…covers dropped out in Term 3.
Just wondering why the school has not considered changing the files to those with quality…parents can save on buying that every year. Tomorrow’s trip is to buy subject files and some of the books not avail from Popular. -

Buying textbooks/workbooks from Popular is fuss-free. There are friendly and helpful chaps there in charge of helping parents...just have to cancel out what you don't want from the booklist and they will prepare all the rest of the books which are avail. I just have to double-check. Furthermore got 5% discount.

Hey, I thought that it is a good thing the handbook has deteriorated to such stage means that your dd has used it very freq. . Anyone prefers the handbook to be as new as 'chinese new year clothing'.
I shouldn't have ordered the school handbook, cos at the end of the year, it was always like salted vege no matter how we tried to salvage it. My dd used it excessively. Maybe I'll check whether I could cancel the order since it's out of stock, when I go to school to collect the remaining stuff.

Congrats! It's not your 1st choice, are you comfortable with this posting result? Did your dd's classmates get posted to their 1st choices? Realized ur dd is only child, do continue to pop by this thread after your dd's transfer, ok?
