School handbook quality is rather lousy...mine here became salted veg in Term 2 as the paper is of poor quality....covers dropped out in Term 3.

Just wondering why the school has not considered changing the files to those with quality...parents can save on buying that every year. Tomorrow's trip is to buy subject files and some of the books not avail from Popular.
My P3 boy's Student handbook did not last one term  The girl at the bookshop did not suggest I put down an order for it.

The sch plastic files are not the same as the ones I hv at home. EL yellow and CL Light Blue are out of stock. I checked the new files, think it is less lasting than the old batch- the plastic piece attached to the file body is likely to be bonded by heat or glue. Dun think can survive long if the child handles it roughly.

The Xi You Ji also out of stock.

        Hi Jennifer,

I wouldn’t expect my son’s student handbook to look like CNY clothing at the end of the year but definitely should last longer than 3 terms since the kids have to write in it and flip everyday for their homework…better quality paper should be used.

As for the files, the pathetic plastic is terrible. My son handles files roughly and it’s not possible to recycle.

That reminds me, for Science for Upper Pri, there is no more additional Science ‘assessment’…wonder why.

Helo Markfch, didn't know you are so 'interested' in my dd's posting. If still keen to know, the answer is in ....... wait .... coming....... and tada........ http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?p=307086#307086

          :congrats:

Aiyah, you know me. Always kpo-ing here & there  . But for PH students, it means extra significance to me cos it tells me that some lower pri teachers must be very good in assisting to groom so many GEP kids.

Btw are you aware that in the virtual world of KSP.com, your dd just became the most desirable, ideal, sort-after DIL cos your grandkids will now be eligible to apply to NYPS with PH as another good option. I didn't make this up, they said it here 😉 ==> http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?t=15034

Congrats! It's not your 1st choice, are you comfortable with this posting result? Did your dd's classmates get posted to their 1st choices? Realized ur dd is only child, do continue to pop by this thread after your dd's transfer, ok? 😉

Thanks, I am fine with it. Most of dd's classmates got into their 1st choices. ( I think 2 of them, I am very sure of it). Anyway, I will know when dd is in the new school. If there is something I can contribute or kapo, you will see me here. I think I will most definitely going to miss this PHPPS thread, as this is the most thread that I 'talk' and share the most. Infact, I think I will miss PHPPS more than my dd. The school, the teachers, the system, the journey to school, those mummies that I got to know, the sharing etc etc. All the best to all of you mummies and daddies.

Ha... Ha.... it should be highly sought after not just NYPS but PHPPS included as well. Actually my dd want to go to RGPS as it is an all girl school and PHPPS is a co-ed SAP school, so she said everything is in (can choose a girl sch or a good co-ed sch for next generation) Think to much, eh?
Yes, most of the teachers that she had, had been very kind to her and had taught her well. Of course, I still complain about some teachers but I think parents play an impt role. I always want to groom her to be a happy learner and I hope that she will continue to be that in whatever sch she goes. Three cheers for parents that have work hard here.

                  Hi comfy,

It's ok to think far once a while... 😉 If MOE doesn't change rules for P1 admission, your grandchildren will enjoy the privilege of PHPPS if they are boys. Enjoy the new journey ahead and keep in touch here.
                  :celebrate:

I shouldn't have ordered the school handbook, cos at the end of the year, it was always like salted vege no matter how we tried to salvage it. My dd used it excessively. Maybe I'll check whether I could cancel the order since it's out of stock, when I go to school to collect the remaining stuff.
Yours is not alone. Mine also has her salted vege. She has alot of stuff written including her 'ang kongs'.

Maybe I am the only one here who has not bgt the booklist stuff yet.
