I have gotten 2 pairs of velco Bata school shoes for him. He can learn to tie shoe laces slowly but for the time being just don't want him to step on his shoelaces and fall ๐Ÿ˜„

does MS rank the child by class position at p1 or any other level?

this year wats MS sec's COP for affiliated and non-affiliated students?

Yes, they do class ranking from P1. Don't know if they can do this at P1 after they do away with exams.

Think we won't know the COP for this year until the S1 posting results are out later this month.

This year for my P4 boy, they only do class ranking. Last year, they had class and level ranking.

Are you talking abt labeling his name on his bag? I stuck the sticky name label on the inside flap where they have a plastic cover instead of the canvas. I personally dun think it's nice to have a person's name so blatantly on the bag itself. Just put something that he can differentiate eg. a keychain, an iron-on applique that you can also sew on if it doesn't stick.

My applique from Daiso stuck well on the outside of his ergo bag with just mild ironing.
OIC, tks! BTW, does the name-tags come in green colour for all students regardless of colour group? I received mine from Charlie Chan already, but he didnt reply my query. My boy's colour group is Red.

No banding after P2 SA2. Banding only starts after P4 final exams. i.e p5 and P6. They used to have only 1 best class in P5 but next year there will be 2 classes.

            Hi 2DMommy
So they randomly assign to P3 classes? That means don't need to worry so much about SA2 results hahahaha, great!
Er, so how do the boys make it to the best clases at P5, is it by ranking (top 3 in class) or COP (certain % in SA2)?

              Definitely Bata for two reasons:

              - feet still growing
              - I don't want him to get accumstom to high end goods before he has the ability to earn them

P1 are able to wear velcro. Are your kids wearing velcro or laces?
Yeah, I second that. I didnt even get to wear Bata back in my days, just those cheap wet-market variety. I will get velcro.

They are randomly assign to P3 classes and the boys will stay on with the same classmates to P4. Not too sure for P5, I suppose the best top 80s in level? Still waiting for the school to release the class allocation on 15 Dec.

My sonโ€™s name tag is green though house color is red. I think name tag color is standardized across the standards so teachers at one look know they are P1s.

Phew! I was worried they got the colour wrong, house colour is supposed to follow them throughout the years, so I thot name-tags too. Maybe our kids are in the same class. I met a really friendly lady while queuing up to buy books, that wouldnt be you, would it?

๐Ÿ˜„ No, I should not be the friendly lady cos we didn't talk to anyone when queuing up. Instead I was quite flustered cos I need to rush my son to his I Can Read class.
