NEVER will she do anything which will make her look like a MONSTER to the grandchildren. So if stay together, she will always defend the kids and mummy will not be able to discipline them. I have an agreement with hubby - when I discipline kids, we have to stand together.

i had to discipline my kids in my rm last time. no use doing it in front cos it will only make my kids go to her arms more.

Fortunately I don't stay with her...otherwise my kids will be spoilt brats...unable to tell good from bad, right from wrong, difference between clean and dirty. She thinks she is doing the right thing all the time...when actually she is not.

Since her dear daughter wants her children to be close to grandparents, the both of them better go to US and spoil their grandchildren all they want....better still if stay for good, which is not impossible bcos she will have to cook every meal.

my biggest worry is if the mil recycled a detergent container and put food or some misleading item in it and never label!

I told hubby I’m very pissed with his family…his brother has a child one year older than mine…but forget about asking any info related to school bcos it’s as good as not asking :x wife is worse…cannot understand why, since the kids are not of same age. No competition right ?

Maybe dont want ur child to be in the same school as him 😛

Aiyoh, his brother's kid is a girl and has affiliated sec school unlike my son. Put it simply...selfish lah.

If your dh’s brother isn’t close to your dh, then why should he answer questions about the kids?

I wouldn’t bother to talk to him at all in this case… I also don’t want him to know too much about my kids…

Even if not the same year or gender, there is still indirect competition like who’s seen to be smarter by the grandparents. I know because my relatives are like that. Each year, my auntie would ask all the relatives how their children did for the exams… Another aunt always refused to answer her probing questions by ignoring her. Selfish? Maybe… but I think she’s not talking as she doesn’t want comparisons. Could also be due to inferiority complex.

i think another reason why they didnt want to share information is they didnt want to be held accountable for anything bad that happened. for example should they say school A is great and the relative put her kid there based on what they said and things are not the way it turned out, guess who might get the blame for giving wrong information.
