During orientation, we were told that we are allowed to see the kids before they go into class and when they come out for recess. We were told to observe them from afar. They will have prefects to accompany them.
So maybe after they have left for class, you can go home and come back during recess time. Alternatively you can also join the Parent seminar happening during the first 2 days. Not sure whether seat are still available. You might want to call the School to check. -

Sad situation for me... i missed the orientation. Nonetheless, I've bought the books online and will be collecting them this saturday. I've not bought the uniforms though. Was reading the note that there is a new design of polo tee, but is only available in the last week of Dec?
Just some questions:
What does the kid need to bring on the 1st day of school? I don't recall reading anything about this.
Is there a name-tag to be pinned on the uniform for the 1st day?
Sorry if I am asking questions that are deemed \"too basic\". <shame>

Firstly, don't feel bad about needing to ask/double check. That's the good thing about having our little support group here
It would have been good if you and your kid had a chance to attend the orientation as the kids got to see their class, FT and classmates and parents were briefed on the school's programme etc etc.
But don't worry, all will be well. Maybe if you have the time (and school still have vacancy), it might be good for you to consider joining the P1 seminar for parents on 4th and 5th Jan. Payable at $10/parent thou.
Oh and we get to hang around from afar for recess time
I just got my stuff yesterday also except the PE t-shirt. Was told to call up Shanghai Uniform in mid Dec to check when it would be available.
Things to bring on Day 1 is in the Orientation Booklet on page 20. All 1A textbooks and workbooks. And yes, pin up the Name Tag on the uniform. I guess the kids will get their official iron-on name tags from FT... -
We went to buy the uniform yesterday and noticed that the design for the skirt is weird.
If as normal, the tag on the skirt is worn behind, we found that the pocket panel is also sown on at the back piece instead of the front piece of the skirt. I thought it may have been a mistake but it is true on both skirts we bought.... :roll: so either the tag / pocket seems to be sown on the wrong side... :?
All your DD's is the same? :?
All that aside.. my DD look so 'big' gal in her uniform :love: :love: -
can check for Rulang , how many exams are there in a year? I heard some schools only have exam once a year . Does it apply to Rulang?

SA 1 (1st half of the year) and SA2 (year end)
Plus many tests in between. -
