Hi!

How about this one?

I had to pay the fine. Otherwise, I would have lost my license.
Unless _____________________________________________.

Thanks.
Q2

Lily's son is rebellious. She still loves him.
No matter
Answer given
No matter how rebellious Lily's son is, she still loves him.

Answer by my P5 younger sister
No matter how rebellious is Lily's son, she still loves him.

What about
No matter how rebellious her son is, Lily still loves him.

Perhaps the model ans is \"more correct\" because I have made an assumption that the \"she\" in \"she still loves him\" is Lily.
Both are acceptable.

Hi Vanilla Cake, this once again brings up the "distractor" issue.

If there is a "but" in the sentence, the part after the but and before the comma is a distractor.

So, the sentence could be read like this.

All _______ to take part in next weekโ€™s Mathematics Quiz.

Now comes the next issue: had prepared VS are prepared.

sed in different contexts to me, both sound correct.

Are prepared means that they are well-versed in what they need to do for the test.

Had prepared means that all of them had already prepared before thisโ€ฆ

A67: I would also go for \"none of the campers have had their lunch yet\"

A69: I would go for \"No sooner had Mr. Tan sat down on the sofa to read than the phone rang\"

Hi meimeitan,

din notice your Q before...

The question read \"I had to pay the fine. Otherwise, I would have lost my license.\"

So, by right, this happened in the past.

IMHO it should read \"Unless I paid the fine, I would have lost my license\"

Otherwise, it could read \"Unless I pay the fine, I would lose my license\", but the question does not read \"I need to pay the fine. Otherwise, I will lose my license.\"

Sorry for the late reply. Yes, based on the context, 'paid' would be a better answer. Thanks for pointing out.
