I think if you have very bad cramps and backache due to period, even Panadol Menstrual doesn't do anything to alleviate the pain. Eventually, my gynae gave me a prescribed medicine that comes in a capsule form. It not only helps with the backaches and cramps, it lessens the flow too. It was a blessing to me since I suffered from the pain and very heavy flow. I took about 1 a day for the first 2 days of my period when I get the pain and heavy flow. The only disadvantage is that you can't get it over the counter at pharmacies and it costs more than Panadol (can't remember how much as it was ages ago when I took it). I can't remember the name of the medicine but I'm sure if you mention it to a doctor experienced with this, he/she will know what you're talking about. -

Hi, have tried panadol, sometimes popped into 2-3 at one go. But was eventually advised by doctors not to go for panadols as the addiction will increase. Anyway, panadols didn't really work.
The docs gave me (pronounced as pon-s-tan) forgot the actual spelling, but the addiction went up to 2 capsule per cramp as well. The heat pack helped alot, but only restriction is that you got to stay at home, but it sure helped me during the nights.
Was very lucky that cramps weren't that serious after I gave birth. -
Was it a blue & white capsule? Then it could be ponstan. I used to take that for tension headaches cos panadol does nothing for me. Can’t anymore though, cos not safe for breastfeeding…

Yes, ponstan is the one I took too. It worked wonders and I limited my intake so as to cut down reliance on it.

That's why lor... after taking too much for too long, it will not work anymore. Plus the doc said might affect my hormones. So stopped since JC times, just got to endure when I had the cramps - every first day of the period. -
Yes, it's always best to rely on natural remedies instead of drugs.
If all else fails, try to distract yourself from the pain, eg read a good book, listen to music & relax over a nice cup of chamomile *bliss* , cook/bake, start a project (I recently made pillows for all 3 of my kids), chat on KSP forum ....
