Juz wonder what level is your girl. My son is P4 now and been studying there for 2 years. He started with poor Chinses grade and hate chinese but now he's doing very well in paper 2. So far, he didn't need Han Yu Pin Yin to read chinese words. In Han's worksheet, only new words were given Han Yu Pin Yin for them to pronounce correctly.

The only problem for my son is his composition, he manage to get a passing mark only and this drag his overall mark down to band 2 for chinese (he scored almost full mark for his paper 2). Ever talked to his teacher, she suggest to get him read more chinese books and sign up the holiday composition class.

My girl is in P2 this year. I know that the first two years, they have more han yu pin yin to help them, after that will be more words without the aid of Han Yu Pin yin. That is the part I am more worrying. Anyway, I will see how its goes too. If her grades does not drop, I will continue to put her in Han. Oh that is quite strange maybe they make her learn by hard quite a lot so she does not like it but can do well? But I think it is important for a child to enjoy the subject. Are you planning to switch centres or stay?

I think I will still try out Han since my daughter's results is still good. However, if her school tests and exams results drop, then I will plan to switch to a new one.

actually tried Han at kovan? their compo class only 1 or 2 kids for p3.

guess all went tien hsia

but i thot small class size better.

My friend's son liked it but my friend found their materials ok only. my kids are at Jiang but we find it a struggle to cope so now also looking for alternatives.
