Heat pads are very useful to warm up frozen fingers.
my aunt said the same thing too. i think she swears by them -
Hi Tamarind,
Not mamemo, but I brought ds to tokyo before for 6 days, and I only brought 1 set of thermals.
-
tamarind:
Are heat packs really useful ?
Tam,
heat packs are really helpful.
do put the heat packs before you go out, else not really effective.
I bot DS 3 sets of thermal for 8 days, as he had super senstitive skin, wldn't want him to repeat for too many times since will be using moisturizer on body too. Personally cannot stand the idea of wearing the thermal for too many days. -
Hi aa, schweppes, tankee,
Thanks
OK I think I better get some heat packs. I wonder if those from Daiso are good enough ?
smurf,
Did you wash the thermal wear in Tokyo ?
aa,
Now I am worried about my son's nose. He gets runny nose even in air-con room. Do you know of any medication good for runny nose ? -
Hi Tamarind,
No I didn’t wash…coz not dirty…wear inside mah…but I wash his underwear though…my boy refused to wear thermal after 3 or 4 days, coz he said its not very cold… :!:
And sometimes, he asked me to let him wear sandals when outside… :!: -
I think 2 sets for thermals is just enough…
-
Ya, therma wear usually do not get dirty, unless of accidents.

Hey Tamarind, agree with Smurf that 2 sets of thermal shd be enuf. Did the same during our 5/6 days to Tokyo a few years back. The 2nd set is for the \"just-in-case\" situation. We are ksp afterall

Can get the heat packs from Daiso, else you can buy in Japan. Easily available in convenience stores (7-11, Lawson, ...).
For medication, I got the PD to prescribe for cold, cough, allergies and fever, according to his records. Feel safer this way ... KS again :oops:smurf:

My son also always get runny nose when it is cold. We bought Karvol Decongestant Capsules from Guardian or Unity which we will then break and drop the liquid onto Handkerchief for him which helps to clear up his blocked up nose. Not sure if it will work for your son. You may want to check it out.
For the Thermal wear, we let him wear his Pyjamas beneath his Thermal and we change his PJ everyday while we let him wear the Thermal for a few days. That felt cleaner to me.
I bought the heat pads from Winter wear last year. Paste it on him everyday before we leave the hotel. We bring along spare ones in case we are out longer. I think the heat pads last 8 hours or so. Not sure about the Daiso ones though. If you think you have a chance to go to the local departmental stores when you are in Japan, then you should buy there as they are much cheaper there.
Enjoy your trip!
