I didn't see the above three either while shopping at POPular just now either.

I only managed to find the Creative Vocabulary Sec One and Sec Two ones.

I think either the Creative Vocabulary P6 one is outofstock or removed from shelves.

I find the PSLE Guide I-Science familar.
        I shall ask around then.
For the Companion to Science, no one I know uses it.
For my own class, the two guide books that are popular are the Ultimate Science and PSLE Science (Orange Book).

        Dear vanilla

        Thank you for your recommedation.

So far I had bought the PSLE Guide I-Science and Upper Block P5 & P6 Ultimate Sciene Guide book. Dare not to buy too many as I'm no sure what school will recommend and also in view of dd may not able to have time to read through all.[/quote]Is your DD/DS in p6? If so, I think you should have bought the PSLE Ultimate Science Guide as compared to the Upper Block one.

          Hi livewith_vanilla,

I really appreciate your help to look out for the books at Popular just now...not only did you recommend but also help to look out.
          :thankyou:

Using these books 'Ultimate Science' and PSLE Science (Orange Book) to highlight for son going to P5 next year. The titles are better than the Fairfield publication. The explainations are clear-cut and easy to understand. I've highlighted and written down the pages in his school text...so he can refer.

            Ultimate Science Guidebooks by EPH

In the past, EPH publish 2 science guidebooks : lower block(p3/p4), upper block(p5/p6). Now they introduced the \"Ultimate Science\" which is for P3-P6. We already have the lower block since P3. I compared the Ultimate and lower/upper and still prefers the upper for the experiment walkthrough so I bought the upper.

It is a series of 3 : Elementary (peach), Intermediate (purple) and the Advanced (blue). We have the first two. Last month I browse through the advanced. It focus mainly on å‘½é¢˜ä½œę–‡. I think for my ds standard it is better to stick to ēœ‹å›¾ä½œę–‡, less likely to write out-of-point. å‘½é¢˜ä½œę–‡ - I think more suited for higher ability and HCL pupils. I didn't get this due to that.

              Science:
'Ultimate Science' has experiments and explainations clearly stated...I like the Science PSLE (orange) for its clear and precise explainations in English easy to understand. Bought the Science PSLE first, but after hearing so much about the Ultimate Science, decided to get it as well. No regrets.

              Chinese Essay:
I have the Elementary & Intermediate (P4-6)...decided not to buy the Advanced because I would prefer son to stick to the ēœ‹å›¾ä½œę–‡ as chances of going writing out of point is high...besides, he's not too comfortable expressing himself. If he can throw in some 儽čƍ儽叄 and other 成语, that would be good enough.

              English:
I'm still at a loss which title to get for PSLE revision. Looking for a guidebook to coach him and not another assessment book which the PSLE English (blue) is. Headache.

                2) can you remember your PSLE EL and MT oral exam topics for picture and conversation ? can share with us ?
                Thanks !
                Question One:

Hmm well I actually didn't do much in preparation for Oral.
In my school, my form teacher would get the whole class to do a topic each.
It could be a conversation topic on going to the night market or going to the night safari.
I found that planning the conversation topics and how you are going to say it did help a lot on the actual PSLE oral day. Some of my nervousness died when I found that the PSLE topic was similar to what I had practiced before.
I had lots of notes for oral including the format, thus I just brought them to read.
One important thing to note is that your child shouldn't be nervous, the more nervous he/she gets, the whole thing can be a nightmare.
I can't recommend books because I've never used them, but I have some tips:

1.Don't be nervous, the examiners(2 of them) won't eat you. ^^
2.Read loudly, but do not shout . Definitely do not mumble.
3.Read with expression and read with pauses.
4.Don't pause too much though, also, don't read like an MRT train.
5.For the conversation topic, if the topic was \"Do you do housework at home?\", then answer yes or no, and elaborate. Don't give one-sentence answers and wait for the teacher to prompt you.
                6.
                One sample ans:
\"No, I do not do housework. I have a helper at home that does the housework. When I was younger, I had wanted to do some housework, however, my mother did not allow me to, as she was worried that I might make more mess instead of cleaning up.\"
7.Get straight to the point in conversations, it wouldn't do for you if you were to tell grandmother stories.
8.Don't ever use chatspeak or singlish. Many pupils have handphones, thus they tend to use chatspeak and singlish. Must be very mindful of this.

I will collate some more tomorrow. ^^

                Qn 2.
I've forgotten already, but I think there should be a mention of it at the PSLE 2010 threads. ^^

I can't find the link for the discussion on PSLE 2010 Oral exam in KSP forum, but these things had been mentioned if I still can recall correctly:

Conversation:How do you help out in your home?/Do you do household chores?/Do you like cleaning the park?\t\t\t
