anyone? pls tell me how's Guang Yang Primary????

Based on 2010 PSLE results, Guangyang is one of the 12 schools with good progress in PSLE results.

        Hi,

My girl will be going to P1 in 2012 and I’m having a hard time deciding whether to register her for KCPPS or Henry Park Primary School (HPPS).

        Pros for KCPPS
        1) Within 1 km and can walk to school
        2) Am also a PV at KCPPS now
        3) Like the Christian environment

        Cons
        1) KCPPS will be moving to AMK. It’s also uncertain when this will happen.

        Pros for HPPS
        1) my hubby’s Alma Mater
        2) like the bigger school complex
        3) GEP school with consistently good results

        Cons
        1) Very far away

To all mummies and daddies who are sending your child to KCPPS, can you share why you have chosen KCPPS. Hopefully, I can find more reasons from hearing from some of you.

        Thanks very much!

          1) if you have own pte tpt, distance is no longer a problem. else, do consider increasing sch bus fare. also when the child has to stay behind for cca / suppl lessons / etc in future, it translates to making own tpt arrangm or paying extra for the sch bus.

          2) HPPS, like you mentioned, is a GEP sch. And that explains the good psle results. but that doesn't mean any child who goes there will graduate with good results.

          3) kcpps' move to amk has been shelved. at least for the next 2 years, it will stay put. move is short term. because they are not going to tear down the whole sch and rebuild like guangyang. just some extension in the pipeline.

            hi zeemimi

Thanks for responding. May I know how you know the plan to move has been shelved for another 2 years? 🙂

Actually, I dont mind if KCPPS has to moved but at least, if the date is confirmed, it's easier for me to assess how the move will affect us. HPPS is also moving in 2012 but to a nearby location former RJC campus and at least I know, it'll only be a year when my child is in P1. So, it's not so disruptive in P1.

            Thanks 🙂

hi, would like to know whether there are any parents (bishan) who have to ballot for places this year for their children when they register for KCPPS? phrase2c.

                thanks.

KCPPS balloted for applicants staying 1-2 km for phase 2C this year.

oh, thanks alot.. i think I am within 1km, the joke is I faxed in the PV's form late. hopefully, won't impact my son's registration.

In order to redevelop the school premises under PRIME for 2 years, in January 2010, the school was shifted to a holding school at 2 Ang Mo Kio Street 23 from 6, Bishan Street 12.

Maybe you can check with the school or below website for further detail:

As you are also keen in Ai Tong, please note that the school will be upgraded too from January 2014 to December 2015.

During upgrading, the school will hold temporarily at ITE College West (Ang Mo Kio) located at 4300 Ang Mo Kio Ave 5. Pls refer to below link for further detail:
