Yes, i would love to hear more about this centre.

Went to a party and one parent was raving about this centre and said how it improved her DS chinese by leaps and bounds.

I have enrolled my DD (P6 in 2011) for the new term.

It is 2 hours, once a week.

Hi Carebear, does your DD like her lessons at Eastgate? Rather...how do you find Eastgate? Any improvements so far?

            Appreciate any comments!! Thanks!

What about Molin? is besides eastgate and many TNS students went there as well.

I sent my boy to Molin mid last year. He is P1 this year. Frankly speaking, I do not find it very effective. actually intend to change teacher or even the centre.

Hi Carebear. How is your DD doing there? Would you mind giving a more thorough review of the place?

                Based on
                a) Teacher Quality
                b) Material Quality
                c) Centre Service
                d) Location
                e) Value-for-money

Mmm..either out of five stars or a short statement for the diff bullet points.

                Would appreciate it! 🙂

Hi Milo and mr ding, sorry for the late reply.

My DD at first was so unwilling to attend lessons at this centre and I had to drag her there every week.
I even gave them one month’s notice that she was quitting so that I could gets back my one month deposit. All this changed after the term test as DD scored band one in her Chinese and also got the same marks as her good friend who usually does much better than her in Chinese. This coupled with the fact that DD learnt from another schoolmate who attends the same centre and who made significant improvement.

                  A. Teacher quality - young and enthusiastic teachers from mainland china. Some lessons are conducted by Wang Lao shi herself. Although each lesson is two hours, the teachers will ensure that the lesson is thoroughly covered before dismissal, so be prepared to wait up to fifteen minutes form the expected dismissal time.

                  B. Material quality - I find it impressive. There are many repetitions of the word or phrases that are being used in different scenarios and these helps in learning.

                  C. Centre service - very good. They are polite and thorough in their explanation to parents on any query.

                  D. Value for money - good value for money. not exorbitant. DD is doing P6 higher chinese. 1 term = 10 lessons = $360+

Now i really hope that my DD will agree to do the zuo wen and kou shi ban with them. I heard they also have holiday lessons which are superb and highly recommended by friends who have enrolled their kids there.

                    Hi carebear,

Thanks for the update. Really appreciate it. Seems like a glowing testimonial. Haha.

I hate zuo wen when I was small. But if I have good ideas in my mind, the words will just flows out naturally. I believe that if they can make zuo wen interesting and creative, students may enjoy it. For example, interesting titles and wacky scenarios to start with 🙂
