          Merry Christmas to everyone !

http://www.postimage.org/ After reading some of you talking about your child experience in PHPPS, I remember before sending DD to PHPPS, I heard that a P1 student cry when she couldn't do her CL comp. I was shocked as I didn't know that the standard is so high or difficult. Luckily, my dd coped very well. Basically, I just have to ensure that she does her homework. Make sure that her handwriting is legible, math must show steps and chinese must write properly (every single stroke and stop must be in the correct place) as I recall the teacher is rather strict with it. Eat healthly and let her enjoy school life as much as possible. Not much assessment books/homework given by me and no other enrichment courses except chinese (the non-academic type). So P1 parents take it easy and wish all of you and child an exciting jouney in PHPPS.

I can understand Markfch's point of view regarding taking a more relax approach for his DS in P1. For me, after taking such a approach, I change 'gear' as DD is promoted to CH2. Change her chinese enrichment class from a non-academic one to a highly academic one. Monitor her EL, Math more closely than ever. Hee hee more KS as the teachers' marking is very strict. Very difficult to obtain high mark for composition/compre. Maybe the teachers expect more from this class. So I believe all parents will definitely put in more effort from P2 onwards. Come to P3, slack abit, getting use to such marking and class position. Hence loose abit of steam. Now have to charge up again for new programme in new school.
