Merry x'mas everyone.another week or so to go....still so many things not done, not yet stitch name tag,ds still writing his names on the stickers for textbooks....but have to learn to relax first during these festive periods.
I have yet to master the skill of relaxing...esp during festive periods.
Just repacked daughter's school bag last night...also checked to see if all her books and stationery are labelled. -
Hi,
It's good to see PHPPS networking group and it's really amazing active.
I and my wife bought son's school bag yesterday and start to prepare his first of school. It's really fun to do it and recall myself when my parent bought my first school bag around 30 years ago. I remember clearly that I was jumping and keep hold the bag until I slept.
My son seems don't like his first school bag.
Unfortunately, I have another problem other than school bag. I lost the paper that shows what text book and things to bring for first week. My son is joining Peace class. Anyone can share with me the information on that paper? Can I get one more copy from school? Please advice me how I can get the copy of paper again.
I just wanted to see what text book I should teach him before 1st day of school. I think I need to learn more how to keep important paper.
Merry Christmas !!

Aiyah, Give Them a BREAK-la ....dyh:
Guess what...i only received my p3 son's letter on class posting yesterday. We called on 16/12 when we still didn't receive it. PH said to let them know again on 17/12 if still no letter. So we called on 17/12 again and they promptly sent a new one. We received the new letter on 20/12 (stamp dated 17/12). Then yesterday we received the first letter with stamp dated 10/12! I wonder where did the first letter go during the last 12 days.

I would suggest you read his textbook to have a feel. As for teaching him in advance, it may not be a good idea in my opinion...esp for Maths. The reason is such - your child may have learnt what you have taught and will feel bored when his school teacher teaches the class...making him unattentive. Also sometimes our method of teaching may be different. My hubby 'learns' how son does his Maths according to what the teacher has taught...step-by-step so as not lose any precious marks for problem sums.

Hey, ALL of U Parents Don't Scared the New Parents Like that - la ....
However I also heard that at P1/P2 level (not specifically PH), there is very little homework and most kids will be able to finish everything in sch. So can't be so bad what.
Personaly, I'm Taking a Very Hands-Off Approach with My Kids .... ALL 3 of Them, and Have Trusted them in Being FULLY Responsible for their ACTIONS ....
And TOLD them in NO Uncertain Words, \"DON'T MAKE ME ANGRY (in terms of School Studies), U WON'T LIKE IT WHEN I'M ANGRY!\"
- Famous Quote from \"A GREEN MAN\" in \"Seemingly Un-Tornable Shorts\" TV-Series from Years Back, AnyOne Can Make A Guess? .... Ha - HA ....
Anyway, My Kids have Heed Me and Have Grown to B Responsible for their Studies, and Seeks My Help only When Needed ....
And NO, ALL my Kids Hardly bring School HW Back from PH in Lower Primary. They Always Finish it in School (for P1 to P4) ....
So They Always Got Lots of Time for their Computer Games, and CCA (Non-academic) ....
But Must Say, P5 is a Different Story, Loads of HW ....
On the Other Hand, Even their Classmates commented on this MUMMY Hands-Off Approach .... Their Mummy / Dad R Always asking them to Do Tons of Assessments / Tuition ....
But, Of Course, EveryOne Has their OWN Parenting Style ....
As Long As It Suit \"Your Kid\" and U, That MUST B the Right One ....
So Cheers ....

Wishing all of you a blessed Christmas. May the New Year brings happiness and success to you and your loved ones.

I don't remember my son bringing homework back at lower primary...even then, it can be done in 1/2 hour.
This year however, he had loads of homework almost everyday...no choice have to help him or he won't be able to sleep. Hubby helped him with art & designing while I helped him with non-significant stuff and he just copied. You mean P5 is going to be worse ? OMG. :!: -

Yeah, Brace yourself for the year Ahead, esp When Your Kid is in the TOP 2 Class ....
You mean P5 is going to be worse ? OMG. :!:Funx3:

And In TOP HCL Class .... (Can U Imagine, at Times My Gal has to do 2 Compo per Day for 2 to 3 Days in a ROW? Really Squeeze Your Creative Juice CLEAN!)
My Gal has Complain to Me that She Doesn't Know How to Write Anymore by the 3rd Day - All the Compo Looks Alike
I have to Work with Her and Resort to Using Plots from Drama Series (Yeah, We watch A Lot of VV Drama from StarHub TV) and Jokes from Comics Like \"Lao-Fu-Zhi\" (And Yeah, Both Of Us Enjoy Comics, esp the Detective Kind Like Kindaichi and Conan) into the Compo Story-Line
- Not So Much for the Marking, But More to Entertain Ourselves ....
Ha - HA ....
Surprisingly, She Got Good Marks for it ....
Guess the HCL Teacher is Entertained AS WELL ....
Hee-Hee ....

Looks like it may be a blessing that son wasn't offered HCL then. Since his Chinese is weak, it may not be a good idea to continue at P5. Understand there is a lot of ็ฌ่ฎฐ to copy as well. 2 compos ? :!: Writing one is tough enough...2 would literally mean squeezing out all the creative juices dry. -

Look like there is a high possibility that we will lose E3 soon. i am looking at her profile, her no 2 will not be in time to enrol into PHPPS soon. if not, we might be able to keep her for another few years....
Yea high possibility
Thanks E3, perhaps see you in 2012. Work hard!comfy:
