But French is very hard to learn.
Coz it starts with \"Le...\" or \"La...\"
Words are difficult to pronounce.
:? The best is not to choose French.

Le and la actually means \"the\" in english. Le is for males, la is for females.ooptimizer:

Hello all,
I scored 255 for my PSLE, and i have put French as my first choice for a third language.
Unfortunately, my offer has been rejected, and now i am only applicable to take Arabic ( second choice).
Is there any way that I can appeal to learn French? I don’t really have that all much interest in Arabic. -
My daughter has been offered Jap as 3rd language. However , she is also interested in the Regional Studies PRogramme which is actually a scholarship tied in with the Malay Studies PRogramme (this is only offered in 4 schools).
The RSP seems quite a good programme and from criteria stated, her chances are quite good. It is a scholarship so I guess there is some benefit as well.
Given that more than 50% students drop their 3 rd language, I was surprised to hear the teachers inform that there is no dropout rate for the Malay studies Programme (as most students are offered the RSP scholarship) as well. It sounds good, but I wonder if anyone knows if the reason why the dropout rate is low is because:
a) Malay studies is interesting/easy to score; or
b) the students are disallowed to drop out of the programme…? -
I’m not sure about students not allowed to drop MSP. My school certainly allows that, but probably your daughter’s school doesn’t? Why not ask the teacher why the dropout rate is low?
Many of my classmates scored A1 for MSP this year. So I guess it’s relatively easy to score? I’m not sure about the situation with other third lang so can’t comment much. -
May I ask if there any schools which is compulsory to take MSP?

How do you encourage/help your child sustain in third language rather than giving it up easily especially when school work, CCA and projects are under tight schedule?
