Problem definition
===============
I wish to address this, to the
Principal,
VP (Academic),
Chinese HOD,
inside this school (Bedok View Secondary school).
============================
This year,
2022 Sec 1 batch -
for Standard Chinese,
there is this class laoshi,
can teach until …
the HIGHEST score inside this 2022 Sec 1 class, is only slightly above 50 marks, upon 100.
What does this mean ?
Can u imagine ?
If the HIGHEST score in this class is only slightly above 50 marks,
what is the logical deduction, one can make?
The logical conclusion, is that –
many students inside this class have failed their Sec 1 pu-hua (Standard Chinese) !
Sec 1, so early, out of their 4 years of Secondary school education, already failed pu-hua !
What more to face (encounter) next, as these students go higher up, into Sec 2, into Sec 3, and into Sec 4 ? This is No laughing matter !
Parents,
what do u all think,
if your kid is studying in this school?
Won’t u be worried,
when your kid reach Sec 4, taking O level pu-hua ?
And very funny !
This class laoshi, even got the cheek to ask (question) the Sec 1 students : "how come, u all did badly in Chinese ? "
May I suggest, counter-ask
this class laoshi, instead ?
Why are u questioning the Sec 1 students ?
Why don’t u go and do a mirror self
reflection, upon yourself?
Why Is it that, as a laoshi, you can teach a Sec 1 class until so badly … until so many students can fail Chinese ?
If u say,
only a few students failed Sec 1 pu hua, that, as parents, we can understand, we can accept.
But now,
when the HIGHEST score is only slightly above 50 marks upon 100, which means so many students have failed pu-hua,
then clearly,
the fault certainly got nothing to do with the students, but has everything to do with your own teaching. So, please, for goodness sake, do some self reflection, polish up your teaching skill, or whatever !
And,
if either
u have no heart to teach students here at all, but merely to collect your MOE monthly salary
OR
you don’t know how to teach Chinese properly to help students improve in pu-hua,
Then,
can u pls quit this teaching profession, because this teaching job is really not suitable for you.
Why ?
Because
you are NOT helping the students at all, but a stumbling block, an obstacle, to the students instead.
=============================
Going forward,
the impacted, affected ( parents & students ) wish to ask
(Principal / VP / Chinese HOD) -
what action(s) or steps,
are the school going to take,
to look into
how to
rescue / help the Sec 1 students pull up their socks, to improve their Chinese ? -
