Hi, I am a new user to this forum. My boy is going to P1 next year. We are facing some transportation issue as we are staying in tiong bahru. We have checked with the school bus n were told that the pick up time is 6 a.m. That's really too early. We are thinking of making taxi arrangement but no cabbie seems to be keen. I have read from this forum that there is someone staying at bukit merah area n will like to find out if you have resolved your transport issue.... Thank you
I am staying right beside CHS and my son is not can't get in there (or rather, I din dare to try the Phase 2B balloting). Sigh.
Anyway, I suggest u let ur boy take the school bus first. Then find out from him who are the kids staying around tiong bahru. If possible, find our from these kids their parents' contact number. Maybe u can work out something like taking turn to send kids or something? -

Bishan to Maris Stella, $120 (2-way). Balesteir is not very far from CHS. Seem like expensive to me. But I'm new to this schoolbus thing. I maybe wrong.Hi need some advice...
Is it a norm for school bus charge to be $170+ from balestier to catholic high (two-way)? -
Balestier to chs $170 sounds super expensive! But then, it could be because no students to pick up at balestier and for a bus to purposely go there, must charge premium?

Hi Bigfoot, thanks very much for your advice. I will try out the school bus first n see if there is a better solution.

We're staying in Queenstown and I send my son to school every morning. Journey takes around 20min but I let him take the school bus home and one way $165 :stupid: -

Queenstown ... hmmm... i heard of a CHS pri boy who stays there, went home himself after cca, fell asleep and ended up at Vivo City. Then boarded bus again but fell asleep again and ended up at Yishun. No choice, took bus again. *faint*. I think it ended up being a journey of several hours for a primary school boy!

Hi Bluemoon, what time u all leave the house for school? Any traffic jam along cte? Problem is we don’t drive. But if really got no choice, may contemplate buying a second hand car as new car’s coe has gone up by much recently

My ds used to take from CHS to pekkio area. one way, about $120 or less. That was like 4 years ago. If I did not remember wrongly, we only paid 9 times instead of 12 times in a year. According to the bus driver then, they combined 12 months' worth of fees and divided into 9. So I did not pay for June, Nov and Dec even though I actually paid for these months already. Now, I'm not sure how they do things.Hi need some advice...

We try to leave by 6.45am latest and reach the school around 7.05am. I go by Adam Road/Marymount so smooth traffic all the way.
I agree the morning part is very challenging especially if they have problem getting up. Cannot imagine missing the school bus.
