the allocation of p2 classes was based on the sequence of level position of each top student of p1 classes. for eg. if the top p1 comes from Truth 1, then the whole of Truth 1 will go to Respect 1. then follow by second in level, for eg. Grace 1, then the whole of Grace 1 will go to Respect 2. The top P1 student should come from Respect 1. But not the whole class. i think this is the way they do it.....

Eh...there are two 1st in levels in P1 this year according to my dd, both from different P1 classes so your theory above falls thru liao. Think of another one.

if that happen, it will be based on the second criteria, that is the second position of the class. for eg. 1st of level comes from Truth 1 and Grace 1. which is the better class will depend on the level position of the second position in the class.

if any second position of the class is ahead of any top position of the other classes, then his position will be given a miss. this happen in this year p1 ranking.

Another reason that I asked was also my friend's P3-to-be dd (from another school) was asked to buy only Diversity and Interaction books. Looks like different schools approach the themes differently.

Yes, for 2010 it includes Digestive System, but Interaction not included.

Dear Parents (who have kids in morning session), may I know how is the traffic condition in the morning? Is it very chaotic? Also, any pros and cons of sending front and back gate? I've always been using the back gate for the past 2 years but was wondering if it would be better to use the front gate in the morning next year. TIA!

Morning traffic depends on what time you drive into the sch compound to drop the child off. From 6.30 to 6.45am still manageable-> easy to drive inside Pei Hwa Ave, also easy to get out. Once the sky turns brighter (think close to 7am), need to q along the bus lane to get into the sch.

I think the only pro for front gate is parents can drive into the sch compound (esp on rainy days) whereas for back gate, only at the car park.

You are right. I do see Digestive System under P3 assessment book. Those assessment books with a combination of topics chunked under the term \"Lower Block\" are the ones that I get a little muddled when attempting the questions. Hehe...that's y I need to be entirely sure the exact topics under each theme taught in P3 and P4 specifically in PH.

Yes, the Digestive system is covered in P3. Some systems are studied in P3 and P4 depending how much the teacher has covered. (follow quite closely to the MOE website as E3, you, have highlighted. For eg the investigation of the plant systems under highlighted covered in upper block is being taught in my dd's class. I don't know about other classes. But so far the MOE syll. is followed for the rest of the topics. Hope that you are getting a clearer picture. But you really are super duper \"KS\" ha... ha.... hope that you don't me saying that. Don't worry too much about teaching her sci, you only worry if your dd's teacher can't teach or couldn't be bother type but I am sure your dd's class is well taking care of (TOP class, you know, have to maintain certain std). One of the things I know, gather from my dd's classmates, in order to do well is to do alot of assessment books. In this respect, my dd fails hence being hardworking really count. So you know what to do, right?

May I know how are Diversity and Systems taught for P3 Science as I noticed that both topics will be taught in the Lower Block from the Syllabus Requirement. Do they learn ALL of Diversity (ie. Living Things and Non-living things + Materials) or just one topic at P3? Likewise for Systems, will they be taught ALL the topics in Plant System and Human System?

I find that it's easier to focus if I know the topics that are being taught from each theme for each year. Thanks.

Need to find some bearing to gear myself up for the new year. Hehe. Since Science is so-called the \"new\" subject in P3, I had decided to stabilise this subject for my dd first.

I believe assessment books work for all subjects, esp Science, as the more exposed you are to different types of questioning styles, the more confident you will be in answering the questions.

This I totally agree Different assessment books do provide diff styles of phrasing questions.
