Your dd1 is what level next year? My dd started wearing speckies since p1. It is about 350 each side now. Sigh.

My gal will be P1 next year. Any idea what books to bring on the first day of school? By the way, I have not bought her school bag. Don't know what bag to buy. Can any kind mummy advise me?


How is it like on the first day? Must I stay there for the whole day? She will be taking the school bus for both ways. Must I wait for her till end of the day so that I can make sure she board the right bus? What else I need to take note?

My neighbour's son was in Nanyang for past few years, every monring they left home about 7:05am~7:10am, and can arrive to NYPS before 7:30am.

Wow, 6.05am pickup is so early but like Luanee said, the BT jam can get really bad during peak time. Btw, just a tip to share. If your DD cannot eat before pickup, let her bring breakfast to school and eat at tuckshop. She should have enough time if she arrives at 6.30am. I think the recommended time to arrive is by 7.10am but the school gates close at 7.20am. We are one of those rushing to beat the gate closing time every morning. :lol:

Thanks, aqeqiq, I told my DD she can eat after she arrive to school. My DD said she can eat on the bus (not sure eating is allowed or not on school bus), and then continue her sleeping on the bus..

When my DD first day in school when she was P1, she took a lot of books, but it seems that most of the books not used.

I bought trolley school bag for her, also back bag. The conclusion of my DD is that trolley bags are much easier for her to carry. But she likes to change always.

I did not stay at school with my DD for her first day. I thought school will arrange everything properly, and it was proved that I was right...Don't be too worry. But if you are not rush for other things, you can stay there to see their life in school, it's a fun experience as well. But I'm not sure whether RGPS can allow parents to stay or not...

Hi HVR,

You and I will share the same route from macdonald's king Albert onwards, I think. It may take you about 15/20 min from that point to rgps. My sensing is many people start their journey at 7am so if you are well along BT road at 7am, you should be ok. Based on past observation, the school is quite understanding of latecomers in the 1st week to allow parents time to adjust.

Name tag should be below the school crest on the pinafore. Don't need to sew tag on PE attire.

I just received an email from the school saying P3-P6 got to report by 7:10am but I dont see any agreement form? Where to get it??
