Hi, everyone.


My DD will be Pri 1 next year. Would like to know whether any parent going to stay in school for the first 3 days during the recess times. Since, the school had already arranged to bring the food to each classes.

I was thinking they are not coming down, then what is the purpose of staying in the school.

I popped by last yr during recess & indeed, will not get to c the kids. So there is no pt to hang ard.

Can check what is the kid supposes to bring on the first day in School?? Just the pencil case with stationary?

From what I can remember to bring :

1) Pencil box (At least 3 pencils, one eraser,one small ruler and a COVERED sharpener.)

2) Colour Pencils

3) Tuesday school re-open, then to bring ONE English story book
(Mon ,Tues, Wed, English story book) and (Thur-Fri, Chinese Story book.)

4) Teacher will ask them to write down on a Handbook what to bring on the next day.(HANDBOOK GIVEN BY THE TEACHER)

5) Water bottle(Every Day) & Lunch Box ( first 3 days), if you opt out for the food provided to
your kids (Have to pay at least $3/- when buying school books at that time) (Packet drinks and cakes) Actually it is consider as tea break, as the recess started at around 3pm.

6) On the fourth day, there will be a buddy to buy canteen foods for them ,one buddy to one child. (Remember to gives your child money on the fourth day, one bowl of NOODLES costs around 70 cents)


REMEMBER WEDNESDAY MUST GO EARLY AND THE SCHOOL WILL ENDS EARLY AT 6PM . BUT OUR CHILDREN WILL HAVE TO ASSEMBLE, AND COME OUT AROUND 15 MINS LATER.

PARENTS CAN GO EARLY TO WAIT AT THE GATE YOU REQUESTED, TICK ON A FORM GIVEN EARLIER ON BY THE SCHOOL. (Gate A, Gate B or Gate C).

Oh yes, the first 3 days, our children will be having their recess time in the classroom.

I remember during the orientation, one of the slides indicated that on Wed, its 130pm-630pm ie instead of ending the day earlier, the school starts later, so that ALL teachers get a chance to have a group meeting (something like that). Can any one recall??

You can double check under the Parent Support Group book, page 34 if is still remains the same as last year.

Students are to be in school earlier by 15 mins for Silent reading.

Mon,Tues,Wed,Thurs & Fri 12.45-6.30pm

Wed 12.00pm - 6.00pm

What I understand after assembly they start their lessons at around 1.00pm under Mon - Fri exclude Wed.
Their Recess at 3pm.

If is 1.30pm(Wed) reach school then 1.45 pm starts lessons .Cannot be so late lah.
1 Hrs lesson only then recess already?

Then Mon,Tues, Thurs & Fri will assembly 2pm ? 2.15pm starts Lessons?

I jotted down the timing shown on the Orientation Day's slides; it differed from what was shown in the PSG handbook though. Here's what I copied from the slides that day:

Mon, Tue, Thur, Fri: 1pm - 6.30pm (seated in the hall by 12.45pm for silent reading)
Wed: 1.30pm - 6.30pm (seated by 1.15pm)

By the way, can I ask if we hv submitted the form which indicate the gate we will pick our kids from? Hubby rem there's this form that was filled up on Orientation Day (but can't rem which gate) but I dun recall at all...

I think wait till our child comes home on Tues when school reopens. Teachers will sure informs parents if there's any changes.

Regarding the form, I think is alright , as long you bring your child to tell them you will be waiting them at which gate A or B will do. You shows them where you will be waiting them after school before you bring them into the school on the first day . Gate A considers at the place that there's a security house.

Whilst Gate B is at OUR RIGHT HAND side near the traffic lights, when you stand facing in front of the school. Mostly there's a lot of parents waiting outside the gate is Gate B.

My girl told me the teacher will ask them those going for gate B to queue up. But those taking school Bus and to Gate A , children will assemble in front , and the children will then go to cross the road(School Zebra crossing) themselves passing by the security house towards Gate A. Though there's an auntie at the zebra crossing to guide them,I still find that it is quite dangerous.
