      Hi parents...

I am a noob here and would like to find out more on the entry for my kid (in future) to Nanyang Primary.

My husband studied and graduated from Nanyang Primary in 1993 - does it automatically make him an alumni of Nanyang Primary, or does he have to join an Alumni club?

Also, if we have a residence at 19 Shelford, is it within the 1km radius?

If he is indeed considered as alumni and 19 Shelford is within the 1km radius, what are the chances of us getting our kid a place in Nanyang Primary School?

Sorry I don't know if this is the right place to post but I have these burning questions in my mind.

      Thanks in advance... 😄

Your hubby is not an alumni unless he joins the club 🙂 So if he doesn't join the club, you can register your kid under Phase 2A2 (same as my nephew). If yr hubby joins as an alumni, then your kid will be registered under Phase 2A1!

All those under Phase 1, 2A1 and 2A2 will confirm be accepted into NYPS, so you don't have to worry about your house being 1 km away or not.

      HTHs!

Could someone enlighten me which are the books that the children should leave in school and which are the ones that they should keep at home? Read from the various class blogs that some teachers are collecting everything from the students, while in my case, books brought to school are being returned back. Also, it seems that some books are kept in the classroom by the teachers, some are kept in the student’s locker, some are to be kept below the student’s desk. Which are which???

I am actually getting frustrated already as DD has different teacher for different subject. Do I have to go call the teacher up one by one and ask? :x

U can forward the query to the form teacher first. Can follow up again at the meet the parent sessions.

I am surprised that there will be 4 days of PE lessons per week!

That means the boys will be wearing PE attire to school for 4 days… but we have already brought 3 sets of uniform… kids nowadays grow so fast! This should have been told to the parents in nov/dec…

Just to share, i have my ds to only have his main 4 sub textbooks always in school bag. Most of them will be either under desk or locker. The teachers will allow them to take from locker if needed. Usually before June holidays they have to clear their desk and locker too and pack back again in Term3.
