      Hi Blissfulmum!

The best time to "infiltrate" the school is in the pm session. Parents of P1s are allowed to enter the school. Hence, it is quite impossible for the guards/staff to differentiate between parents of P1s and P2s. Furthermore, you can always tell the guards/staff that you are there to purchase books/uniforms.

The next chance you have is on Friday. All the pupils will be in the morning session on Friday. The P1s will have a parade, and all parents are invited to the school. All parents are requested to be seated by 10.45 am. This is another chance for you to visit the school. However, I believe you prefer to speak to the form teachers of your sons, right? Hence, it may be a bit difficult for the teachers to make time out for you since they will have lessons.

Why don’t you e-mail to the form teachers and ask to meet them this week? It will be much better and easier than waiting to get a chance to meet them, right? You will have enough time to clarify any doubts you have, too.

        qms:
I spoke to my boy's form teacher, and she said that there would be one exam for P2 this year. However, the weightage may be different from last year. πŸ˜“ Hence, in a nutshell, it shouldn't be that different from last year, as our kids only had one exam, too.

This was sort of later \"confirmed\" when I spoke to Mrs Wong. She said that the P2s needed to be streamed, and hence, there should at least be SA2 to determine where the students will go to in P3.

Upgrading works for the school will commence earliest March, latest by June. Based on current schedule, the school will only go single session in 2014.

The school is trying out new things this year. Hence, the PTM was brought forward. PTMs will also be conducted in the classrooms where the respective classes are located.
So instead the FT will inform us about the 'new things' this year??? and not Mrs Wong herself...
        qms:
For P1s, they actually have a Meet The Parents Session this Thursday from 4-5 pm. Parents are invited, and they will be brought to the classrooms, while the kids will be in the hall participating in telematch.

The overall impression of Mrs Wong is that she is a chatty person. She would tell you many stories or analogies just to bring across a point. :snooze: πŸ˜„ During orientation, the emphasis of her talk was on the well-being of the pupils (e.g. sleep early, have a well balanced diet, etc.) rather than on the results. To her, all these are pre-requisites to good results.
Sound very much like Mdm Lee except that the former was also just as concerned abt well being and results

:thankyou: for sharing your findings with us...Really appreciate it

          Thanks QMS for your tips!

I brought my boys to school this morning. They went it by Lower Delta's extrance/exit, well, it's not as bad as what DH said lah.. \"sucked\" them in.. HAHHA...

PTM next Monday (P3), Thursday (P4) http://school.radinmaspri.moe.edu.sg/events.html. Hope I could get some tips from there? DS1's form teacher has also given him a personal note to bring back with his email address and mobile phone #. We have SMS yesterday, to leave our contact with him already.

Nothing from DS2's form teacher yet...let's see how lor 😞

I think you need not worry coz i remembered once my dd was late for school during the first week and there was a teacher standing at the gate who led her to the parade square/hall.

The school also have no choice but to \"suck\" the kids in coz otherwise there will be a huge congestion of cars and human.

Did you manage to find your son yesterday? I had trouble looking for my dd yesterday. It was so chaotic! I later found her outside the school with the form teacher.

Yes, I did. The teacher passed by the canteen, and caught my son before the class was brought to the side gate. Somehow, the other P2 classes bypassed the canteen. I saw quite a number of P2 parents/grandparents waiting in the canteen, but the P2s were already queueing at the side gate.

Well, can't blame the P2 teachers. Parents/Grandparents of P2s were not supposed to be waiting in the canteen in the first place.

Only for the first week, I suppose. If your child is late subsequently, be prepared to receive phone calls from his teacher. One of my neighbour's boy was late, and the teacher called his parents.

Yeap she was late. And i remember very well that it was the first friday when we had to arrive at school by 715. There was this horrific traffic jam along Lower Delta. I had to ask DD to quickly \"jump off\" the car at Theresa Ville and enter through lower delta gate.

Once i was late to pick up my dd and received a letter from the VP asking me to be punctual. heh heh.
