Saw their programme on the web. Can share with us the CCA (they call EP3 ?) brefing?

The list of CCA options are given to them in the Orientation booklet. They will be given a choice of 6 options to be ranked in order of preference. Among the 6, at least one from Sports, one from UG and one from Clubs and Society.

DS said can have max of 3 from Sports out of 6 choices, some like badminton has no more vacancy, a few are meant as 2nd CCA only.

There is a form regarding transport to MOELC only on Thu. We'd like him to sign up, but we wonder if it's too early to commit as we don't know yet if CCA will clash and thus lead to a change in his 3rd Lang day.
Thursday is the dedicated day for 3rd lang in HCI. So no CCAs should clash. Unless of cos' there are additional practices for competition.

As far as I am aware, only the junior flying club and golf are 2nd CCA. The rest are all main CCAs. Out of the 6 choices, you must include at least one each from sports, performing arts, clubs and uniform groups.

You will be observed by the coach and sometimes \"invited\" to join that Sports CCA and \"guaranteed\" a place so long as you place it first choice. However, almost all Sports CCA are competitive sports, meaning if you join, you will be placed in the \"school team\". At least this is the case 2 years ago, not sure if it has changed.

Not correct. My DS is in Waterpolo and one of his regular training days is on Thursday.

Can share what is the criteria for waterpolo?

Initially DS would like to audition for piano ensemble, but he found out yesterday it's a 2nd CCA option.

For Waterpolo, they test on how well you can "catch" the ball with one hand, must be able to tread water for at least 10 minutes and swim two laps in any style.

My DS wasn’t a strong swimmer before he joined Waterpolo. He could bearly finish one lap of 50m (he was too lazy to swim, merely wanted to have fun at pool). But he was a basketball player in Pri school so he can handle the ball very well. During the trial, he struggled to meet the requirement but he still made it.

After one year of trainings, he can swim a few km in one training session. Learnt to swim butterfly (I wish I could do that too). He is still a little slow in speed compare to his peers but we are extremly happy with his progress. We think it is good for NS preparartion and we don’t want him to just mugging everyday.

It is a fun CCA with the ball games, friendly matches with other schools as well as National competitions. The team spirit is high and the bond is strong. Also can build up a nice body shape. LOL
