About the >40 pupils per class issue, I think it is a result of pushing more pupils into the few top classes and making the mixed ability classes slightly smaller and hence more manageable for the teachers of these classes.

Think we will be able to confirm this when we receive the cohort class photos.

Could it also be there are more kids with the same overall score in the class, say no. 38,39,40,41 all scored the same?

Not likely. I heard that in the class, many students are transferees from other schools. These must be top students in their respective schools; in other words i believe there are a lot of \"dark horses\" (or crouching tigers) in the class.
You mean for eg. P2 transferees from other schools to P3 in PH? Possibly, although my dd told me that all her P3 classmates were from P2 classes in PH. They shared with one another. It's not difficult to know cos majority of them were her ex-P1/P2 classmates. One of her CH2 classmates transferred out due to distance and I think her place should be filled up by another PH kid.

Really? Last year P3, my girl has 42, this year 41. 40+/- each class right? How many in your son's class?

45.

my son must have got it wrong then. he told me 42 students and majority are boys; while in Twk9, I understand the majority are girls.
Then who is correct? :? My son said 43 because some moved to other class and one or two not in after the first day of school. but majority are boys.
For the math lesson, my son said before they went in the class almost all girls, but when they move in, more boys than the girls. So the boy cheered!

She was formerly in Greenridge before moving to Shanghai.

Guess Teacher Will Get to Know Each Kid in the Class this Way????
And Hidden Agenda - the English Compo Level ....

Know What? My Gal Told Me Yesterday Nite that -
Her MATHS Teacher wants to them to Write \"ALL ABOUT ME\" .... :faint: :faint:

Fortunately CCA is not compulsory for Pei Hwa.

Sorry, I just want to confirm this. Is it true that CCA is not compulsory from P3 onwards? From what I know, CCAs are not compulsory for P1s and P2s. My understanding is that it will be compulsory for upper primary. Not very sure now. :?

It Might Not B a Wise Decision to DROP CCA Totally in Pri School ....

Don't Know About Others, But I Find Letting Our Kid Join at Least 1 CCA in School is Good for Both Character Building and TeamWork ....

I Find My Gal, Who has been Competing Competitively in Inter-school Championship Every Year since P2 is Pretty Strong Mentally, Has Better Time Management Skill, Can Handle Stressful Situation Calmly and is Very Independent.

With the Amount of Time Committed to Preparation for Gym Competition and Dance Rehersals for Performance and / or Competition,
(could B up to 6x a week prior to Championship and Concert)
she has No Choice but to proportion and use Her Time Efficiently.

I Think this is Good Preparation for Sec School, Where CCA is Compulsory and is Awarded Points in their Performance
- Then It Won't B Such a Cultural Shock when they R in Sec School ....

And Remember ONE Thing, in Sec School, CCA Choose U, Not the Other Way Round ....
So If Your Kid is in a CCA they Like Now in Pri School, Got Better Chance that they can Get into a CCA of their Choice in Sec School ....

Have Read in Many Sec School Thread, So Many Parents R Lamenting that Their Kid can't Get into CCA of their Choice and HATE Going to CCA's that they R Stuck with for the 4 years or More in the Sec School ....

One SIDE Benefit,
If they R Really GOOD in the CCA, πŸ™ πŸ™
Can DSA into Prestigious Sec school of their Choice - le!!!!

ANOTHER SIDE Benefit :
My Gal is the FITTEST and Most FLEXIBLE in our Family .... Ha - HA ....
UnLike Plump OLD Mummy Here .... πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜‰

Guess I Spent Too Much Time in Front of the Computer Following KS Parents Forum????
See .... I Got SLIM Fingers to Prove!
Ha Ha ....

Why does the school need to arrange the class P3 to P6 in that manner? is there really a need to reverse the order?
