Any parent with boys in P5 in 2011? Wondering how the school did the class allocation for P5.

My DS1 is in P5, am also trying to figure out how the school allocate the class this year. If I am not wrong, the best class this year is 5F as all the last year P4 acadamic award winners, ie top 3 level positions are in this class. Then followed by 5A, 5E, and the rest I am not too sure. I got my son to \"analyse\" his class list and that's what we figured out. Still trying to find out more.

Have you guys received your timetable yet? I have PE on monday so i wonder if it means this whole year my ds will not need to put on tie (since can wear PE shirt and shorts on PE days)!!

Sometimes the school do change the time table after Term 2.

A total of 6 people from son’s P4 class went to 5F, the top 3 positions plus 3 other random. My son was 4th in class and he went to 5A.


Did you attend the P4 Subject Banding Briefing in Nov? Teacher mentioned that there will 2 top classes in P5.

That's strange. The top 4 boys from my son's class went to 5F. The next following few went to 5A and so on. Yes, I did attend the briefing, that's why I am confuse. :? Tried checking with his P4 Maths teacher, she also doesn't know how they allocate the students this year. Did your boy take higher chinese ?

I wrote to the school's general email to ask and they replied that \"5F and 5H are both pure higher chinese classes.\" I guess i know why now - my son didn't do very well for his Chinese, band 2. Yes, he is taking higher Chinese but I guess not well enough to go into F and H who probably scored Band 1s.

Can we complain about the unhealthy tidbits they are serving? Terrible...

And drink is always a packet drink. I don't allow him to drink such stuff at home...

I am intending to call the caterer to clarify on the menu if there are still no fruits but unhealthy tidbits/snacks by tomorrow.

Today's menu was stated as nasi lemak but what was given is not nasi lemak! They are given white rice with 1 nugget and a small piece of omelette! The banana become crackers AGAIN!!!

Are they trying to cheat us by giving us nice menu and then give junk food thinking that the kids won't tell?

I am ok with them not having pure Nasi Lemak cos white rice is healthier. But crackers are no no. My son’s kindergarten taught him about junk food and now a school giving him this may cause confusion that junk food is ok. Of course he eats tidbits on his own but whenever I reminded him those are junk food, he would stop.

Yes, he is taking higher Chinese but I guess not well enough to go into F and H who probably scored Band 1s.[/quote]Now I have a clearer picture. 5F are probably boys who did well in all the subjects with Band 1 Chinese and 5A are those who also did well but Chinese band 2 , 5H are those strong in Chinese but average for the rest of the subjects.
