Appeal Secondary One Posting

verykiasu2010:
ya, depends on what type of transfer, not all transfers are good
It is still possible to transfer at end of SA1 or SA2....transfer after Sec 1.JonC:
So all appealing stopped?
Or someone is still waiting for something?
Depends how determined is the student and which circumstances. By then PSLE score is no longer the sole determining factor. Sec 1 results play a big part
(ok, just pullig yr leg).
yesterday, gal told me that her schoolmate from another class told her that there was 1 pupil being transferred out of the school.
and another one being retained after yr 2. (same class as schoolmate) -

Gathered that appealed successfully to Nan Hua High with 237.Megametro:
My neighbour's son got accepted into RI by appeal. His PSLE score is 239. Abt 20 points off. Wow!
I also heard last year that active ORA members (maybe the very active or board members lah), their sons would be given entry to RI if they meet 230 and above. My classmate's son sadly missed 230 by a few points.
Dont know the person directly, just heard through some other parents. -

I am still thinking of this point today. So all appealing stopped?

At jc level, some have higher retainees’ rate as high as up to 10%.
For those deem unsuitable for jc education, they either transfer to poly or told to leave. The latter is a last resort after given another chance to sit for the easier supplementary exam.
Really sympathise with parents/students especially the guys easily 4 years behind the girls’ cohort (1+1yr poly+2yrs NS).
Can observe parents actually weeping during counselling sessions.
