My DD is taking PSLE this year and I heard that this year's paper should be tough as last year was relatively easy. Really worried about it. BTW, anyway to get hold of PSLE \"real\" questions as the one sold in book store are only specimen paper.

those sold at Popular are real one, except they are arranged by topics instead of by year

Only some questions but not all right ?
complete set of questions but arranged by topics

The school asked us to buy already. Cost like S$8.70 for all 5 subjects, I think. How much is it at Popular?

It cost $4.00 each at Popular if I'm not wrong.

Oh, it's S$2 each at school, and the HCL one is super-thin and thus cheap.
Ya $2 each at school because no answer booklet included loh 😎

but if you can master the \"top\" schools' prelim papers within the exam time limit and can get above 95 marks due to carelessness, then you should be no problem

Can I confirm the above ?

The PSLE 2006-2010 booklets by EPH, sold in Popular : The page 2 stated 'This book comprises sample questions from past PSLE papers (2006-2010) and a specimen paper for PSLE'.

I saw the toilet bowl water tank and elephant's ear question in the sections before the specimen paper.

So this booklet is SELECTED questions from 2006-2010 PSLE ? The questions in the specimen paper, it is also from 2006-2010 PSLE ?Thanks in advance.

May Be. Those booklets my nephew given to us were without answer sheet. He bought it from the school too.

Regarding the so call 10 year series, I hold a different thoughts …thus just to share.

I am not against the idea of having 10 year series, but it makes very little sense to make your kid goes thru them when they are already at Pri 6.

At least for the case of my kid, teachers will already starts to prepare them for PSLE starting May or even earlier. Prior to that, teachers will be pressured to complete all the course syllabus required. Into the preparation stage, teachers will be giving out to them daily / weekly / regularly, papers from different schools to make sure they are exposed to papers set by different teachers from different school (increasing the chance of caught-all for their students). And I also understood that to do that, teachers have created their own network to ‘exchange’ exam papers and questions’.

With this massive load already on the kid, I am just not sure how far as parents, we can still forced through our kids during this very critical period??? If you let them do it early, they might not have cover the topic…if they let them start doing it when the teachers have covered all the topics, then it might already be too late / the teachers might have already started the process of ‘flooding’ the kids.

Of course to subjects that require regular practices like math, these papers might come thru handy since they will just give them more chance to practice. Otherwise, develop in your kids the habit of consistent work, regular revision, attentive in class, importance to do their best for those additional papers prepared by teachers from other schools…etc…trust in your kid that they will do well.

Just my thots…have fun. My next round of fun with PSLE will come in 4 years.
