If you are not yet satisfied with the recipes posted by some of the members, maybe you can try logging on at allrecipes.com/Recipes/Bread/Main.

It offers different bread recipes. I already tried their zucchini bread recipe. My children loved it.

If you have a bread maker, it makes the whole process very simple. Manual kneading but timing for proofing will take alot time and effort.

If you are worried about cost and it being a 'white elephant', try asking your relatives to borrow to try out first.

I love my bread maker cos all I need to do is measure ingredients, dump it all in, press and few buttons and VIOLA! Start a night, get fresh bread in the morning!

Used to make bread for my son and my mum (diabetic). Now I'm so busy, my maid is the one who makes the bread ๐Ÿ™‚

            Hi mrswongtuition,

Am considering getting a bread making machine because my family had relocated to china and I simply feel bad feeding my boys bread purchased from the bakery. In china, they use alot of whitening agent in their flour:(

Is it really easy using the bread making machine? As long we follow the recipe, bread will turn out decently nice?
            What brand are you using?

Mine is not this brand, but seriously, I trust anything from Zojirushi, especially if it is a geniune product from Japan. That said and done, it is better to get a breadmachine with a horizontal pan rather than one that is vertical, my personal preference.

Thanks friend, it's a good reminder indeed!

As for vertical, I agree with you but I have a tiny kitchen, I cannot expect much if I am living in a pigeon hole....:rotflmao: ....cannot afford the space for horizontal pan....so I am looking for something as small as possible that meets my needs.

Then no choice if space is a problem, have to get one with the vertical pan, but like I said in my earlier post, I have no qualms about getting a geniune "Made in Japan" Zojirushi product anytime.

Just read the specs of the machine, I think it is a good buy.

Just to share, I used to own a vertical breadmaker machine from zojirushi but it is of the older model.

So far, I did manage to make bread with it and turn out well except when it is kept overnight, it is not soft as when it is freshly made. However, it broke down as I seldom use it. I guess like oven you need to heat it up periodically. However, it is still able to knead when I gave it away.

Another thing is, I would agree with 25hourmaid that it is better to get horizontal pan, as I believe this model will enable you to make kaya or jam as well. Just that space saving wise and design looks better on vertical zojirushi machine.

                      Cheers,

Thank you heyhoe for your feedback.

I am a heavy user of breadmaker.
Have owned 2 breadmakers so far and all kaput already so looking for a new one.
I can bake about 2-3 loaves of bread a week and they are consumed very fast.

Yes I also try to use my oven often to avoid the breakdown issue.
