I feel that we shld look at the issue "Which is more suitable for my child?"

Since you already signed up for MPM (I assumed you had paid for a term), just sit back n observe how your child copes with the two programs. If your child is confused, then drop MPM (assuming the childcare 3G abacus is compulsory).

      Just my humble thoughts.

Just heard that there will be more n more problem sum for Maths (DS in P2 for 2011) n MPM will not be suitable. Was told to go for Just Education.

DS started Jelic and follow with MPM.
        Like to hv some feedback.
Hi daddies and mummies,

I read in this forum that there are many math enrichment classes. I just want to check for MPM, there is a sister enrichment class called Jelic which is meant for smaller kids like 4 and above. Is that true?

How is the Jelic class as compare to MPM or other math enrichment class?

Anyone has attended class conducted by Bukit Panjang tutor? Appreciate your review/ Thanks.

It is for children below 5yo.

            Thanks.

DS starts Jelic at K2 (recommend by colleague). It is some kind of \"play\" n he enjoy. So we continue w MPM.

Anyone has sent their kids to attend Jelic before? Is this class good?
Hi

My gal is in K1 this year n started with Jelic TP late last year. Since we did not focus on teaching her Maths so it is a good start for her. And her fine motor skills are not fully developed so we are observing her n not pushing her to start to write n do maths worksheets. So far, she is improving. From only a 10 mins concentration, she is not able to finish 2 games/worksheets. For the 3rd one, she still requires a 1-1 attention from the teacher. But the teacher is really important to facilitate her learning at this stage.

              Hope my feedback helps.

For Jelic, can anyone share how many boxes does the trainer do in one lesson? Is the lesson timing fixed to be say 75 mins or fixed by the number of boxes the child completes?

                  Hi everyone,

Is K2 supposed to know multiplication and division now? K2 in the beginning of the year. I see all parents talk about multiplication and division so am worried that my DS is behind.

It's too early, should be very tough for kids.

See the post by some parents, it appears that some of the children is taught multiplication even at K1?

                      Hi jen kuah,

Hmm, have you check with the CMA teacher when will he complete his division? I heard from my friend that the teacher told her to complete division, it will be around grade 6, which your DS is in now. My DD1 is grade 9 for both mental & abacus book, have started doing multiplication not long. I also wanted her to finish division soon so she can go to MPM.

Which CMA branch is your DS in & which MPM are you looking at?

                        Hi Mimama,

Sorry that if my post makes you worry! My DD started learning multiplication in CMA (as her teacher in CMA taught her) not long ago, so I just happened to ask. I was hoping to prepare my DD to complete her multiplication & division before she goes to P1
