Hi Piezolbs, get yr dd to observe and idntify a few she may like to be close to, smile, ask if she can join her/dem for recess. And if chemistry is not there, check out a few others. In no time she may find someone or a few that she feels can clique better. Kids r v adaptable so no worries. Do chat casually with her regularly on classmates in her class. I usually know a number of her classmates names by a few weeks' time, but I hv to coax her into tellg me things sometimesI am a new arrival.
Does anyone have suggestions to my P5 daughter about how to make friends in her class?
She feels alone bcos she is the only one to join the new class from her P4 classmates.

May B, Like lizhi say, One of the KSP's Kid is in the Same Class as Her and ....
They Can Persuade Their dd / ds to \"Friend-Friend\" with Your Gal?
:celebrate: :celebrate:[/quote]Your gal in P4/5? Mine is in P4. If they are in the same class, I am very sure mine will be glad to befriend her. Mine was transfered from another school when she was in P2. I was worried too, but before I know it, she got friends. If mine can do it, so will yours.

It's not easy to make new friends. No worries though, the kids in Pei Hwa are generally friendly. Which class is your daughter in ? -

May B she can start by Speaking to the Gals sitting Near to Her (Of Course Not During Lessons -la
)
Start with Something General Like Home work, Which Banding Class U Go, Which CCA U Join, and \"Can I Join U for Recess?\" Kind of Stuff.
Anyway, She will Still Get to see Her Old Classmates during the Maths and CL Banding Class, I'm Sure.
I Find Kids Make Friends Easily, May B this is only the 1st Week, and She's Rather intimated by Being the Only Transferee to the Class.
There Will B More Opportunities to get to know her Classmates Better when they start to do Group Projects together.
My Gal has to Go to Each Other's Home to Complete the Project ....
Or If U R Really Worried About it, Dip your Finger in to Help ....
Get an Occasion to Invite them to Your Place perhaps for Chinese New Year, Birthday, ....
Or An Outing to Snow-City, East Coast Cycling, Watch the Latest Movie, ....
These R the Many Things that My Gal Enjoys for Outing with Her Pals ....
:celebrate: :celebrate:
As she said, she tried to speak to her classmates but no response.
Actually, I also encourage her outing but her only hobby is staying home reading!reading! reading!, either Chinese or English books. -
Thanks all of your suggestions!
I may update once she has friends. -

Thanks php and all
Sorry, didn't realize the info is on the web, though it really doesn't say much, haha ... thks!
Has any parents' child joined this program before? It does look interesting but can be quite time-consuming to go every Fri + projects (worse if need to bring work home!) .. not sure if it is worth it .. no time leh..must prioritize .. very KS hor .. I know. -
