mummy dibo : hyperactive child?

sometimes dunno want to laugh or cry right?
there's another incident, this time at the fruit store, my ds squashed a plum, i scolded my ds & was so paiseh & told the seller that i will buy & pay for it..the fruit seller was very kind, he said its ok...i ended up buying more fruits than i needed...
my ds2 has very strong outburst of energy and stamina, and i am thinking of signing him up for taekwondo and such 'energetic' sports in the future. the comments i usually get is that i should let ds2 do some 'tame' stuff to try to tame him down (eg music or the 'slower' wushu instead of TKD). yet i was thinking, shouldn't i tap on his 'potential' instead? :? -

RRMummy, for your verification and do inform us on your findings.
ds1 - pre-term bb born at 35 weeks but in the mth of Feb. Learning progress in term of crawling, walking, talking and academic learning are fast.
ds2 - full term bb born at 38 weeks but in the mth of Nov, has a gor gor and a bigger head too but... disappointing to say that everything is so much slower.
for me,
ds1 - born at 36 weeks, motor skills slower, but picks up talking faster and attention span longer. cos he was an only child for 4yrs, he was actually treated more like an adult.
ds2 - full term born at 38 weeks in Nov (on EDD). smaller head. motor skills faster (cos less protective of him maybe). I was wondering, does the structure of the tongue affects his speech, cos he has a really Long tongue (really!).
2 sons, VERY different experience, but a lot of fun.
dibo:
there's was once, my ds as for my ds classmate, no leh, he is a only child & dec bb...i do agree that with sibling, younger children speech may grow faster, eg. my 2nd nephew, he is 5 mths younger than my ds but can talk very well..
jedamum:
 there goes my hypothesis down the loo...Depends la. My nephew has no older sibling. At 5mths younger, he can talk better than my ds2.

dibo:
Exactly!! :celebrate:think, every child is unique. all have their strong & weak points...
i just hope that my ds will be a normal & happy boy...need not to be very smart but able to keep up with the normal pace... -

DH and I had the same discussion about DD1, wushu/TKD?sometimes dunno want to laugh or cry right?

But now we decide to let her have a go at piano then later on let her also join wushu.. then ultimately let her decide to continue/drop whichever she wants.. -
RRMummy:
As our ds2 is pretty active, we are actually torn between letting him learn music/piano (ie tame him down) or 'train' him in sports (harness his energy) - he seems to love both. I am just worried that letting him do contact sports in the future will incurred injury that is detrimental to music learning (which need agility in the 'limbs/joints' etc).

think too much already - as usual. -

Same with DD1, DH initially said that the best primary school to send her to would be a 'Sports School' to let her channel all of her energy!!As our ds2 is pretty active, we are actually torn between letting him learn music/piano (ie tame him down) or 'train' him in sports (harness his energy) - he seems to love both. But really, it did not even occur to me.. err.. not even the injury part.. -
i also thought of sending my ds for TDK class.....quote from RRmummy: place to channel energy!!...^__^
oh, my ds love swimming, so i may actually sign him up for a swimming course...
my ds could have a brave front but weak interior..hahaha
no doubt, he is super active, he is quite shy at times...will hide behind my back when ppls talk to him... -
RRMummy:
haha...ya..me and dh also to choose a school which is good at its sports CCA or offer a variety of competitive sports (which they are doing well in). currently ds1's school has only 1 CCA niche....which is one of the clubs/societies....

so similar!! my ds2 can climb the bookshelves despite my warning, but once the librarian spoke to him, he'll quickly obey and run hide behind me! haha!! that means that chances are high that he'll be more tame in school next time!
-
jedamum, seem like our ds got quite alot in common...
as for your statement on next time will be more tame at school, i dont know leh..my ds recieved complaints by teacher that he distrub class & cannot sit still...haiz
could be a matter of time, when they are more familiar with the ppls & place, they will show off their more active self... -
welcome to KSP.
Nowadays, most of the kids are like that.
