How to sign up for CCA trials?

I believe its in the, INET, students portal. At the right side of the screen. There should be a link.

BUT. i dont think they are up yet. Wait for the teachers' instructions in school.

IF, the school has already ask you guys to start signing up, then it should be in the INET.

To know which one you CAN/SHOULD sign up, look for the CCA descriptions link, they will list their pre-requisites, date and time and stuff like that.

How R these DSA-Sports Girls doing currently?
Have they managed to catch up on their grades?
If Not, R the school giving them Additional Supplementary class to help them?
Or has there been more drastic Action, like request to transfer out from RGS?
Hear say that there are special class for DSA-Sports Students only, is it true?

erm , i am a student from RGS currently and i would like to say that the DSA students from sports have to meet a certain requirement for their PSLE to get in [ i think maybe ranging from 245 onwards ] and they ain't given extra classes. They are allocated to respective classes along with the rest of people of the same DSA item with the mainstreams. RGS do leave them alone and they're coping pretty well here

Do they Have a Different Class for Each Similar DSA Type :
DSA-Sports : Separate Class
DSA-Arts & Music : Separate Class
DSA-Non GEP : Separate Class?

By Coping Very Well, I take it as they R Doing as Well as others Students who R Not spending as Much Time on Sports Training ....
Or R Other Students Also Spending Equal Amount of Time, Committed to Non-Sports CCA, Spending 3 or More x per Week on CCA's?

Wonder if RGS specify clearly to the DSA-Sports Applicant of their PSLE 245+ Requirement during the Application Stage?

According to my dd, the year ones this year are generally quite tall. You must be very tall, fatal-illuxions. Any idea what is the median height of the girls at RGS? How are you doing at RI? Are you happy with the environment? Do you feel there's a similarity in the style of your current and ex-principals, particularly in the way they deliver speeches?

HAHA! NO! im freaking short, only (+/-)150cm.

I havent seen the tall sec ones yet o.o. most i saw are generally the usual height for 13 year olds. No idea about median height lol. depends on the batches. my batch is generally more short and normal height ppl than to tall ppl.

It's still abit too early for me to comment on RI, havent experience it in full yet. The school is rather huge and complicated, seniors there are pretty nice, probably cos i know alot of them

And no, i actually PERSONALLY, dont really like the principals there. They lack the closeness (亲切感） that mrs hoo has, something i REALLY REALLY missed.

We had a talk by the deputy principal of RI today. I was very annoyed by the way he spoke. It's like he's trying to incept all the nice words and ideas into our minds, that it sounded fake. but that's not for me to judge, it's just different from the way mrs hoo speaks.

There are two particular people whose speeches were awesome, Mrs Reavley and one whom I cannot remember.

It's only the first day of school though haha. NOT ENJOYABLE cos it's boring with all the talks from start till the end of the day, though it's just something that all J1 people will go through.

97% passes for HCL o'levels. I cannot remember the % distinction, wasnt paying too much attention cos i was too nervous. Peak of bell curve is at A2 grade. <is that helpful? xD

I anticipate JC life to be quite tough with all the mugging and exams, but i hope that the fun will make up for everything.

Can I trouble both of you for another matter? My dd is in Sec 2 now and is getting nervous over the prospect of OBS next year, as she is not the outdoor-sy or sporty sort, and is only a beginner swimmer. Would appreciate if you could give a as detailed as possible outline of what happens roughly day to day, so that she can be mentally prepared. Better still, do either of you happen to have kept a copy of the itinerary?

One senior told her they spent 10 hours canoeing! Is this true? What about safety measures? Do they force all pupils through the obstacles? My dd has a fear of heights and I am very concerned about her safety on high obstacles. Do you know of anyone being excused because of this phobia or is a doctor's letter required?

Is there such a thing as 'non-residential' OBS? My dd heard an announcement a few days ago for theses pupils. Who qualifies for this category?

My son, from RI just returned from OBS last week. I believe the programme for both RI & RGS should be quite similar, though I think they might stretch the boys more.

Yes, they did in fact spent 2 days rowling (not canoeing); from Ubin to Pungol & back. If i remember what he said correctly, there were 6 or 7 members to a boat. Before the activity, they had to test the life vest by going into the water. Other than that, I don't think there's any swimming involved.

They were given food supplies which were mainly instant noodles, Milo powder (eat the pwder instead of making into beverages), Musli bars & etc.

They had to leave their bags in the store room. They were issued a camping bag to be used for the duration of the camp.

They pitched tents for ''sleeping'', no dormitory for the boys. It was rainning all days during his camp, so they were practically soaked in a pool of dirty water inside the tent. All the belongings he brought back stank!

There's this activity where they have to walk solo in the dark (forested area), w/o the aid of torch light.

There is also a rope climbing activity, not sure what you call that. Don't worry, the instructor wont force you if you really cant do it, i believe.

For the boys, they can forget about bathing or brushing their teeth.. :lol:

The equipments/gadgets that were issued to them - an inventory count will be conducted at the end of the camp. The students have to pay for the missing stuff.

My ds' quite fit for his built (thin), yet i was worried for his safety the whole week he was at OBS. I can understand your concern. My dd will also be going for her OBS next year with yours (RGS) and she's really excited and looking forward to it. I'll still worry, beacuse my ds is not as fit for her built (not thin).
