PH hires China coaches to teach both the competitive and non-competitive students, so we need to pay (or co-pay) even if our kids go for the non-competitive sessions.

      Same for Gym.

sigh.. I am learning that Pei Hwa is really the 'pay n pay' kinda school, most stuff are really much more expensive.. really incomparable with other schools.. 😞 can't imagine how much we will b forking out when both sons attend PH.. 😢

It was the ninth passage from the 20 passages that my dd received last year in one chunk. So the P2s this year had it slightly easier or the teachers decided to re-organise the passages, or maybe different class start with different passages?

The first one from my dd's P2 list was:

          中午,天上没有一丝云彩,太阳像火球般地照着大地.天气十分闷热,我汗流浃背地走路回家.

I was glad the sentences became shorter when the workload got heavier over the months so the first 6 were actually quite long to memorise.

Finally, her P3 class received the long-awaited 默写 list. It was not Killer as I had expected, at least not yet, I guess.

E3, is it possible that you are seeing the list for Term 3/4....or the school actually lower the expectation since there is no more top classes...

Nope, that passage is 默写(一) and yours is 默写(九). If Happy Mama has the same list (if she still has it), she can verify too. See, the class names are not the ONLY changes.
I checked 2009 P2 list. This exact sentence (我的同学小玲,她的个子小小,脸蛋圆圆的,像个大苹果。) was also 默写(九). 默写(一) on the list was what E3 has typed.

默写(九) was given during term 2 in May, about 2 weeks before SA1.

Besides the list with 20 passages, the P2 CL teacher also gave moxie from the 五感佳句表.

I think in general all schs are charging parents for those, maybe at a different co-share %.

But 1 thing is true - the charges are different for different external coaches / vendors the schools use. Like for my gal's gym classes, PH uses Fly Once (a sports training provider), while RGPS uses a different vendor so the charges for the extra classes they attend, can be VERY different.

Ya, it is much more expensive to attend Pri sch nowadays compared to our time .. only $5/mth with no tuition, paid-CCA, $0.50 canteen food etc.
I searched my files for P3 默写...fortunately still in my hard disk.

                  There are 默写 for 早睡早起,不要乱丢垃圾,搭地铁,共用雨伞,学游泳.

Hi Janet, how come the moxie is so short? I thought it should be in sentences? :?

The mo xie is definitely longer (5 or 6 sentences)...and part of a compo. What I indicated were the 'titles' of each week's compo. Hope I didn't confuse you.
I compiled all his mo xie together to form a 'mini' 作文.
Oh I see... haha... Thank you! 😉 😉

hey parents, how much do you pay for the ccas? DS brought home a slip for table tennis, stating that its $220 for 20 lessons.. is this for competitive table tennis? or for all p1s who sign up for table tennis.. quite confused... thought it was very expensive for a cca..

Competitive table tennis students need not pay for the lessons trained in school. They only need to pay for addtional lessons outside of school. They usually train additional twice a week at Clementi Sports Complex. Once in group, and the other will be individual training by the China coach (Coach Yu and his team).

                        Hi Periwinkle,

Our kids start supplementary lessons next week. Son told me memo will be given tomorrow.

Time will be tighter then…got to finish homework, nap and some revision.
