u r welcome..I understand how u feel when don't know what to do & not much avenue to find out
hi Cool_hi, thanks for the recommendation, will go down and have a look when free (if ever).cool_hi:
my maid starts to sing while she work, hanging clothes..my mum did say she likes to sing/hum, but at my place, I have never heard her sing.but I just heard her sing while in kitchen, & I can hear from my room!!
don't know whether she's trying to scare me..
or am i being paranoid..sigh!! I still need to work from noon today!!
Anyways, my maid (myanmar) also likes to sing (and pretty loudly too) when she works. It was scary at first but I take it as background music. My kids and mum are trying to teach her 'woa men ti' (I ask sky/heavens). hee hee
This maid not quite able to communicate - english cannot make it, chinese non-existent. She also don't have friends upstairs or downstairs to yak with (ex-maid did so in the yard area). So figure it's good for her to have a vent.
as for the singing, if on usual days, i am ok..but if u read my previous few posts, we discovered she stole $$..& I think she knows that we found out liao..so I just worry that she may be depressed/trying to show depression to scare us, coz our kids are in her hands...for now, the singing stops liao la..but...haiz.. -

OH! Sorry, I didn't connect the dots. If she was singing from the beginning, then ok. but if she just start after getting into trouble, then hmmm, agree it's very strange.u r welcome..I understand how u feel when don't know what to do & not much avenue to find out

Hi all,
Just need some advise about my myanmar maid that I just hired 2 months ago.
She currently sleeps in my daughter's room and since she's new, we let my 2 1/2 yr old daughter sleep with us in the mean time till they are used to each other.
The thing is.. the maid sleeps with all the doors and windows closed, without turning on the aircon or fan. We told her she can use either the fan or aircon. Moreover, she sleeps in her sweater and long pants with a blanket and tells us she feels cold at night!!
I will have to let my daughter sleep in her own room with the maid very soon and have to turn on the aircon, min 25 degrees at the lowest fan setting. I am wondering how is the maid going to get used to the even colder room??
I offered her a thicker comforter, but she refused to use. -
just managed to check with my agency, there’s 1 transfer maid quite suitable for us, took care of previous employer’s newborn till 7mth old, then over a small matter on usage of rahs cream, slapped her+sent her back…
So we will be interviewing her, then decide…hope she’s satisfactory…if we transfer, agency won’t charge us lodging for our current maid, due to nature/reason of sending her back…we only need to pay $60 for transfer of insurance…think this agency is very fair to employers…
hope for the best now!! -

My 1st indo maid also did that - figure she was scared of being attacked when sleeping. I think you have to let her sleep in winter wear.Hi all,

Ive come across quite a no of agencies that accept credit card payment but dont hv any specific agent to recommend. I dont believe in paying upfront loan with agents anymore cos its reallly very troublesome chasing them for the balance when I dont wanna use them again. Besides, who knows agent can loose licence anytime or close shop suddenly. I normally look for agents that accept P/D checks. Higher service charge? No sweat  better this way cos I can cancel checks that are not refunded.
U can look in the classified Ads and call a few agents. -
