Can parents out there please advise how much are the monthly school fees for full day sessions at PSH? How about adding the optional enrichment classes? Please PM me. Thanks!

i think for full day at Pats at least $1300. not sure for optional classes.
suggest u give them a call to enquire.

I think the teachers are of good calibre and are trying their best. However, their administration seriously needs to buck up and stop piling unnecessary work on the teachers due to a lack of aunties. They face a shortage of aunties or helpers to cook food, bring food to class and clean up and I think that is an issue that needs immediate reconciliation. I've seen the principal being furiously busy so I guess they are really shorthanded. Otherwise, I think the toilets are rather adequate and the outdoor play area is fantastic.

u mean the assistant teacher clean backside? and the teacher do only teaching n no backside cleaning?

wow.. how they get the license? Maybe i kaypoh tomorrow must complain to mcys on this. ask the official to go down check on them.... immediate summon them 6mth license... haha....

charge so much yet not enough teacher... waiting for accident to happen.

            hi mummies

I just went to view Mt Emily today and signed up my daughter for nursery 2012. (this was the only PSH with vacancies, my pref is actually buckley but was told no point even going on the waitlist cos it’s impossible)… anyway I’m abit concerned cos no aircon there… is it very hot ? also cos there are no classrooms, I notice it gets quite noisy and distracting with the other kids from the other "classes" all happening at the same time… would appreciate if some mummies here from mt emily that can share some info about the place.

            thanks
Hi Thinklebell Lim,

Read thru the thread yr son will be attending Pat's school @ Tailing in Jan. So lucky. When you register with them? They only opened 1 Dec.
I poped by to enquire but Principle was not around and is scheduled to meet and view again only in Mid Jan. While there, I have viewed the curriculums and the area roughly. I feel aircon bit cold. But I really likes the curriculums seems like all under one roof. Their teachers all looks very plesant too. Can you please keep us posted on how your son doing there pls and I hope he will have a wonderful time there next week!

              DC Mum,
Relax….. is good to let the school do the teaching and we can just enjoy playing time with our kids. Guess we only need to supplement with reading and moral educations. The school fees not cheap, with all the enrichment classes done in school, we parents why not relax our weekend? Need not ferry them here or there for classes, we can bring them to zoo, botanic garden instead. what you think?

              Hi thinkle bell,
hope yr son doing well in Pat's Tanglin. I just read from another thread that this school is like toilet overcrowded and most important the meals are catered from outside?

Any comments or input from other branch mums? Am sure we prefer inhouse cooked and fresh food right?
My branch also served cater food. At first i also had the same concern as you... but after awhile, i am kinda of convinced that it's actually not a bad idea.

my old cc - it's inhouse cook. But the variety really pathetic! every other day i see same kind of \"soupy rice\" or noodles being served with not much ingredients. Although the necessary rice/noodes/veg/meat are all there and the kids actually dun mind! haha think one reason is most cc only engage 1cook.. (cant justify more than 1cook) and to cook within the timeframe for the high no of kids etc.

Pats - their food selection is very wide! This is also gd as our kids get to taste/eat diff variety of food items. I did ask my boy how is the food - salty? sweet? warm? cold? etc etc.. and so far sees ok. And he also ate more in pats (given the good stuff! :p)

Fruits - are freshly cut... not part of the catering. (I see supplier sending fresh uncut fruits to sch every morn)

                Hi,

I was extremely excited when I managed to get a place for my boy at PSH… But it was a disappointment!

It got me worried when i attended their pre-orientation for the parents. Worry on the capabilities of the teachers. They are new and inexperience (i would say cos in my opinion, they could not handle/ manage the children well). New to the school as they are unfamiliar to the school curriculum, the operation in PSH. (To think of it, all teachers needs to be trained!!! and we are paying $1k+ for trainee teachers! Especially their English teachers!!! Its such a disappointment!)

It got be doubly worried after I attended their 3 days orientation. both the Eng and Chin teachers dun work well together, not properly organized as in they do not have a proper plan for the 3 days orientation. Lunch provided is too salty for consumption!

And on the first day of school, breakfast provided was coco crunch and honey stars. and I overheard one of the teacher who was franticly looking for cereal as the kitchen do not have enough cereal to provide for the children.

                  Hi,

To be frank, there's really alot of crying around. If I have a choice again, I would not have enroll my child to a new school. Because too many crying kids around. Teachers are new (inexperience)and they are unable to attend to ur child. lessons cannot be conducted promptly cos they will have more than 1 child crying every now and then.

Sounds that they are not very diplomatic in handling ur call... though it is true that a lot of CCs will have their hands full at the beginning of the year with a lot of new kids joining.

                      U think they care?

If they care about the kids, in the first case, they should not take in soooo many kids so fast... or at least come in stages. Get in more experience (expensive) teacher to handle the situation and not new (cheap) no experience teacher handle this situation.

Look like they only thing they care about yr is $$. Taking care of kid not top priority hor, maximise $$ is their TOP priority!

Think no $$, better dun \"how lian\" and put yr kids in PSH and hear nothing but crying.

Thanks very much for your info. Guess kids will eat once they see their friends eating. They also like salty food. Have u ever aske who's or where the caterer from? Does the school put up the weekly menu? can we request a copy? I like to see what kid is eating in school and do not want to repeat it at home for that day.
