Hi pandan

The carnival is in the late evening after the symposium . I think parents can go but Ds did not ask if I want to go. Guess he wants to go w his friends.

Think I will let him be since he can take the opportunity to bond w his new friends .

      Hi all
Would like to know if any of your kids r attending higher Chinese tuition ? If yes, any Gd ones to recommend ? Tks

Hi Octopusmum, parents are encouraged to attend the Learning Symposium. I'll be going to see and learn more too. I think it's too early to look for HCL tutors, u are really quite kiasu, aren't u.

dd's cl tr said she'll be using cl newspapers a lot for lessons, they're given some cl poems to memorise over the wkends.

R parents encouraged to attend the symposium? My Ds did not mention leh! I think he may have come to the stage when he doesn't want parents to be around 😞

I think I got scared when I looked at his chinese hw. He was stumped by a few questions and I don't blame him cause I don't know some of the words myself .....

Hi Octopusmum, there is a letter for parents given yesterday. I think we should wait and see if they can cope with all those CL work given, before thinking about tuition, shouldn't be a problem lah. All the students can do , so your ds should be able to do also. Anyway, no time for tuition.

The letter is abt the learning symposium tmr, and students dismissed at 10.30 today, and parents encouraged to join them.

Btw, what cl hw does your ds have? dd has only poem to memorise , nothing much.

                    Hi Daisyt,

                    Thanks for your reply.

My girl didn't show me anything about the carnival. I hope she is not expecting me to look thru her file and find out any info from school myself.

                    Hi Octopusmum,

I will give my girl one term to see how she is coping with school works before deciding whether any tuitions are needed. Didn't the P say tuition is not necessary ? 😄

                      fromnuaa:
                      RGS: 58.6% scored distinction.

                      WeiHan:
Yep! And national level is 41% scored distinction.

How is this result compare to Nanyang Girl's, HCI and Dunman High? I know Nanyang has already attained 68% distinction in 2009, but this year I don't know.
I suspect girls are better in languages. I will curious to know RI and HCI's results.

RV is in zaobao today and now I see why you guys mention this year HCL 49% distinction result.

just 2 years ago, rv’s distinction percentage was 4% below national average. And shortly after 2 years this P implement the new promotion criteria for HCL and English, the result improve by 10%, in just two short year. In fact, the paper reported that it is 49.8%.
