So what will you be preparing for your kids then? Everyday, 5 days a week... oh my.....

I hope the issue can be resolved asap cos I really cannot imagine myself waking at 5+ to prepare his meal especially for Monday when we have to prepare lunch as well.
not so much of an issue to us. we rather make the sacrifice cos he returned home hungry, he will be very tire and may even fell asleep in the schoolbus. so it is better to let him eat what he wants to eat than having him not eating at all.

anyway, we woke up every day at 530am to prepare for work. now it is just 30 min earlier. not an issue. so far so good... 🙂

Complaints aside, I think I cannot tahan having to wake up at 5am to cook his recess food. It would be too much of a hassle and sacrifice to prepare his food everyday.

The downside is, my ds doesn't want to eat buns and sandwiches so I can't just let him take a bun.

Those considering to prepare own food can go buy a thermal food warmer for your sons to take to school. You can put porridge, rice with meat n vege, chee cheong fun etc in it and it will keep warm for a few hours. That means you gotta cook very early in the morning.

Those intending to prepare rice-based dishes gotta cook it fresh and not use leftover rice from previous night coz bacteria grows on exposed rice within 2 hours. It can go bad and cause tummy ache.

          Good luck!
yup... every child is different. not every child is better off in having pack food. i believe there are kids who may prefer the catered food as well. i must say my ds is a fussy eater and it is not easy finding something which he likes. should have trained him to eat what was given since young.

My son still on MC today. Also had a talk with his teacher when she called me this afternoon. Told her about the punching and kicking incidents. She said she’ll ask the boys next week.

I just got a small thermos tub for hot food- aiming to pack a simple fried noodle/ macaroni dish 1X/ wk. Rest of e wk will pack bun/ sandwich, pancakes & whatever fdstuffs i can think of that wont turn bad or soggy.

For mon lunch i’m still taking e catered food. Don’t see a choice there… What can i prepare at 6 that wont turn bad by 115pm?

For now at least DS is v pleased to be bringing fd fr home!

yeah i still keep the lunch as well. but i make sure he has enough money to go to the canteen to buy in case the food is not to his liking. we may explore the thermo option. must think of what can be prepared.

Sjij dun have catered food. P1 has to q up to buy food. First 4 days p5 will help to be big brother to help p1. I think it's a better system than catered food. For catered food, we don't know how they wash the ingredients and how they cook though.

Actually even for canteen food, we won't know how clean also.... just have to close 1 eye when eating outside food... unless, cook ourselves lor.

You are right. But at least some of the food are cook in front of you, eg. Noodles, although the soup may be cooked beforehand.

Maybe you can propose to the sch that p1 be allowed canteen food on some days? Because it will be quite tiring for parents to get up before 6am to prepare the food.

Do they have anyone to supervise kids during recess time?

                      Err...

Actually i like the catered food scheme. Solves me the prob and i dont have to worry abt the food spills and running into each other with food in their hands situations.

Yes - maybe the food is not what they had stated - but i just 'make up' to him by giving him more fruites?/ veggies? etc for lunch and dinner.

It does help that my boy was from CC and hence he's abit like a whatever is given to you - you eat it kind of boy - so maybe thats why he is not that fussy an eater!

Haha - i guess im a 'take it easy' mum in that sense bah! 😉

Hi Namie - i have been asking my boy daily about class situation and he keep saying very good, no fights, no one disturb him etc. Maybe should ask teacher to change the 'group' your ds is in or change seats - could be within his group/ near his seat - the boys are abit more mischievious!

So far so good for me and my boy!! Hopefully it continues to be so! :celebrate:
