Hi all, my gal just started pri 1 this year. So far, so good. According to her, the best part of going to school is to buy her own food during recess
I would like to know if is it the norm for pri 1 student to have tuition? Not sure if I should get her started on any. Thanks! -

I think u can monitor how she perform in school first before deciding which subjects she need help in. My girl attended Math enrichment class since P1 and we started her on Chinese enrichment class in P2. -

Hi darlinte, mine started P1 this year too. What class is yours in? My DD is in 1B. Would like to get to know other p1 mums here and swap stories! -
It has been 3-week since my dd started studying in RGPS, so far so good except the morning traffic. You can expect to spend around 10 minutes to get from NJC to RGPS, the distance is at most 500 meters! Not to mention the bottleneck further up the Dunearn road due to vehicles waiting to make U-turn after Raffles Range road. Our home is about 8 km from the school but we must leave home at around 6:35 just so we can arrive in school at about 7:05. On the first day by the time we arrived in school it was 7:30, felt so bad to make my dd late for her first day in her new school.

Unfortunately, that's the infamous BT traffic for you. If you notice, the bottlenecks are all around the schools. The Rifle Range u-turn congestion is caused by mgs parents while the njc/ rgps stretch is due to njc, nygh and rgps parents. I have never checked but on the opposite side of the road, there is probably a jam caused by nanyang and hwa chong parents. We have great schools in BT but the traffic jams... -
This is 2nd time, school bus ran away as we are late for 2 minutes (6:02) have to bring my DD back home to pick my bag, and sent her to school, we started again from home at 6:25, and arrived to school at 7:07, it's just on time...wondering it's maybe better to send my DD to school by myself, she can sleep 30 min. more in the morning...I checked my DD, the school bus arrived to school about 6:40 every monring, after that, girls either in a daze or talked to each other, as it's too dark, school does not allow students to read to protect their eyesight...

We were just in time on the 1st day but the bus already waiting there. The bus assistance told us not to be late again as it will affect the rest of the students. Since then we always be there at least 5min earlier (some bonding time while waiting  ).
How is the tracffic along Dunearn Rd? It is faster to go by Adam Rd/Bukit Timah Rd/U-Turn at NYGH or Eng Neo Ave?
I have not tried bringing my dd to school in the morning yet (hope not).
