      Maia:
      Thanks for explaining hquek.

Can we clarify one point please. If balloting fails at p2b within 1 km, we can still register at p2c within 1 km at TNS or NCPS? I understand proximity between home/sch distance still applies in phase 2c. Or we'll be relegated to outside 2km because we 'enjoyed' proximity in an earlier phase? Thanks.

We're also scared that in our quest for TNS, we cost our children a place at NCPS.

Dorisp, appreciated your finer points too as we seek to make sense of the system. The neighborhood police post would be rather busy updating addresses. My fear is that they impose some rules and we won't be able to change in time.
Maia, Just to clarify. Each phase is conducted independently of each other. You can enrol in 2B at TNS, and then 2C at NC. The distance factor kicks in only when demand for spaces exceeds the vacancies. This is not a lucky draw or game show where if you use your 'trump card' once, you cannot flash it again.

Honestly, I don't think the NPP will ask so many questions. Both properties are in your name and you can always show them the S&P. Just remember that if a property is tenanted out, it's likely it's been stamped with IRAS - so a bit hard to run; point of story: don't use it if you aint living there.

I can only envy you for owning 2 properties and being free to choose where you want to stay.

Just remember that 2C is likely way more difficult to go in than 2B - so use your bullets wisely.

Good luck with whereever you are aiming for.

If there wasn't already a rule preventing this type of maneuver, I would recommend that the authorities write it in!

Personally, I don't think you should be doing this......

Understand where you are coming from; but in this case, both properties are owned and the parents are intending to stay near where their kids' schools are. Work within the system? Sure. it's like those where sahm are given preference for PV work - how to say leh? Nothing is fair in this life - my conclusion. 😉

A very good point, hquek! :goodpost:

We were just curious at how the system works with those with more than one properties.............btw, although we would love to, my DH and I are working hard but have yet the resources to secure a second property............

A bit out of topic (ok, a lot, but only this one), but DH and I also working hard. But it seems once we get close to the target, it slips away from our grasp.

Spiralling prices are scary, I'm just glad I have my own little hdb flat to call my own (at least for the next xx number of years).

                      Hi hquek,

For Phase 2B registration for Nan Chiau Pri Sch, how do I obtain a letter of recommendation from SHHK? I am not a member of SHHK so is it possible to have an existing SHHK member put in a letter of recommendation for me? Would you have a sample of the letter?

I have called NCPS and they mentioned that they will only select 10 parent volunteers and each year they have > 100 PV applicants! So it looks like PV is out.

I am residing < 2km from NCPS so I am not sure if I even stand a chance under Phase 2B since balloting was required for previous years…

                      Any advice is greatly appreciated!

hi yummum, SHHK letters of recommendations are only issued to SHHK members who meet their requirement (how they arrive at the name list is not public info). This letter only gives the person the right to register in the named school during phase 2B. Non-members will not have that letter.

Didn't know that NCPS has such stringent PV criteria - but take it positively. Better they select less than make it free for all and then more pp have to ballot for lesser places.

And I think you are right - being less than 2km will be quite dangerous leh. Less than 1km also may perspire a bit. Would you want to spread your net out and look at the schools within 1km vicinity?
