          Alex001:
          Indeed I do.

Capital punishment is a death penalty given to those who commit hideous crimes against the law.

The only way that our country is safe is that there must be law and order.
I would assume you like the capital punishment law we have in Singapore which make us feel safe to live here.

Indeed. But that is only scratching the surface of the issue. Rules and regulations are rough tools used to control opportunistic behavior in humans. They do not address the fundamental issues of why felons behave in the way they did. If people behave only because of these laws, will they continue to behave should the regulatory structures set up to enforce these laws break down and anarchy reigns? Is it better to promote a culture which requires strong laws to control behavior of the citizenry, or to promote one where good principles are internalised as norms in the people so that their actions are self-regulated?

Your statement makes a very good point. I agree that both good values and justified punishments are needed for our culture. However, capital punishment is not meant to force the masses to do good deeds, but to prevent them from doing bad ones. Less people would commit bad deeds, not more people commit good deeds. Once bad deeds are out of the way, the country would be safer. As to how the country could be kinder, it is up to the government to decide how they would instill good values in the masses.

Also, even if such criminals still carry such bad values, they dare not execute them. It does not matter whether its that they are forced to or not, as long as the public is safe, the path for a kinder country exists. If evil reigns supreme, more people would be harmed, and thus even if good deeds are performed, their effort would go to waste knowing that it is useless as they have a higher possibility of being harmed, thus causing a reserved culture in which the people only care about themselves.

That's ridiculous! I'm still like a baby, dependent on his parents, rolling around on the bed, watching overrated cartoons etc. How could I even score a distinction in my General Paper?

I am twelve and I am in Secondary One. I am both young and old at heart. I act like a baby but I am quite nostalgic.
