How about E&P learning? Is it good? I’m thinking of sending my 3+yo son there… thanks!

She don understand when i ask her question like eg: 'what no is after 2?' or 'what no is before 3?'

Her CC teacher wrote in the comm book that my gal has problem with 'before' and 'after'!!!

Not sure whether is it because my gal is still not familiar with her counting of no?

Any solution how to teach K1 maths? :?

How about teaching her using number blocks? Or just sweets or balls; something that is visual and tactile, so she can see and touch the objects. This way, she’s using her other senses to recognize numbers too, not just verbally and auditory. You can teach before and after concepts by adding and subtracting the blocks/sweets… Small children learn better if they can see the what’s happening and not just picture it in their minds.

Can try using number line, or just get a ruler. Tell her that \"1\" is first, \"2\" is behind \"1\", and so on... or imagine the numbers are little children queueing up to buy ice-cream, so the numberes/children are all facing the left. It's important to point to kids the direction, and highlight to them that \"1\" is the start of queue. Don't assume kids will know that !

Anyway I think such question should be K2 or P1 standard, so ur child still has time to grasp the concept 🙂

In fact, prior to learning this you should actually make sure ur child knows the numbers well. Test her by making her to fill in the number sequences, eg : 3, ____, 5, ____, 7, 8 9, 10 ... once she is ok with this, do it the reverse way.

Heyya piggydwarfs, first and foremost... this question should be posted here

Here are some suggestions to encourage number recognition from moi. 😉
                    Hope it'll help!

If she has not learnt yet how to write numbers, you can purchase or make
your own set of SANDPAPER NUMERALS ala the Montessori tactile way of
introducing the written symbol to young children.

                    http://www.postimage.org/

                    >Or make/print out your own number frieze instead if you have the time.
                    >If your print-outs are in black and white format, you and your girl can
                    >paint the numbers and pictures together! Then, put them up together!

                    >Play finger games with little numbers written consecutively on each finger

                    http://www.postimage.org/

Hide all the fingers in a fist...
You can ask, \"What number comes after 1?\" (excitedly!)
Then, she can raise up the second finger with number 2 on written on it.
If she raises the wrong finger, don't despair... keep encouraging her and
say, \"Hmmmm.... doesn't look like the number 2 to mummy tho... let's try
another finger! Do you remember how the number 2 looks like, darling?\"

                      hi mummies...

thank u veri much for all the great ideas.

I will try it with my gal.

Btw, is it compulsory to know 'before' , 'after' , 'additon', 'subtraction' or time table in K1. my gal is a year end 04 gal, she seems to be in a slow pace then her peers?

Me starting to worried abt her progress.... 😢

not too late to reinforce in K2 as part of P1 preparation.
