Good for u, cpdalin, really. Coz my girl and I are still adjusting. It is either the homework load or her writing speed too slow... DD spent 1.5 hrs on homework tonight, again, still couldn't finish them all before going to bed. haiz....


I checked wz the teacher. Subscription to \"good friend\" is compulsory. It's part of the textbook material. As long as it will be used, I am happy enough. Just fear that some subscription will turn out to be white elephant or merely collecting dust, wasting $.

i m trying to let her complete her homework fast so that she gets to play abit before bed time..... not easy when they are in the noon session..... but pcs only go single session by 2015/6 haiz......

Seems that our DS and DD have so much to do and preparation for the spelling and the chinese test each week that they don’t even have time for TV and play. My DS started to complain why must he do so much work.

He has to revise his chinese and spelling … pitiful at the start already so much to do… He keep saying I have so little time to play.

lets continue to encourage our kids... and ourselves..... we can do it... yesterday my gal fell during recess time... bleed on her hand n bruise on her knee.... dunno hw she fell but she said she tripped over a stick:S
luckily her friends accompanied her to the general office for medication.
so i told her... great to have friends around to look after each other:))

Anyone going to check out the enrichment classes in PCS tomorrow or Saturday? Anyone has any idea what is it about? With current amount of HW, shudders to think about more work.

Hi dark chocolate, may I ask why not take up school's swimming programme? I think it is subsidized and cheaper.

Thanks for the encouragement. Hopefully we all will see the reward of the hard work soon. I remembered the principal mentioned during the orientation day that by hanging in there for 2 years, most kids will benefit from the programmes they put up.

I am not against hard working.. Actually I believe in consistency and hardworking. It is just that when the school work takes up so much time, kids won't have time exploring or developing some areas of his/her own interest...

for example, for arts and craft, better ask them to finish in school.... otherwise, it may end it up being us parents' homework, defeating its purpose.

DS also signed up for PCS swimming program but that is only for one term and not those kind that can get bronze/silver/gold certificate eventually right?

He has his own regular swimming class since last year but now need to reschedule because we have something on in the morning. Current instructor got no afternoon or evening class on Sun so need to source elsewhere.
