Wow, thanks KSI for starting this thread. It is very useful and 'mouth-enriching' for cai niao like me! I love to drool, drooling is good! Lol.
Anyone has any easy to bake recipe that does not require any electric mixer? Had wanted to try BC's and some other premix brand too but mostly requires an electric mixer which we do not have. Easy recipe so that my children can do as well. So far we have only tried BC's cookies that does not require one. We would like to try to bake a cake. :thankyou: -

Betty Crocker cake mixes do not require an electric mixer. Super easy. Just pour in the mix into a big bowl, add water, egg, oil, stir, then pour into baking tin and bake. Even a small child can do on their own.Wow, thanks KSI for starting this thread. It is very useful and 'mouth-enriching' for cai niao like me! I love to drool, drooling is good! Lol.

Forgot to ask you what is the degree for baking. TQ very much.[/quote]160 degree. For my oven I started at 160 but eventually lowered to 150 as I saw that the top was getting dark fast.
Means to put the pan of batter into another shallow pan 1/2 or 3/4 filled with water. This keeps the cake moist.Funz:

Ohh really? But I thought most of the premix state at medium speed or what ever speed required. Ok, will try to look for it again.
Thank you jtoh. -

Electric mixer makes it more convenient or maybe not cos I find it a hassle to wash and keep. For most cookies, there is no need for a mixer, a good whisk and arm will do the trick. Good for toning those flabby underarms.Wow, thanks KSI for starting this thread. It is very useful and 'mouth-enriching' for cai niao like me! I love to drool, drooling is good! Lol.

No need. If you have a mixer you can use it. Otherwise just stirring with arm muscles is fine. Super easy. One big bowl to wash at the end of it. No need to wash the mixerOhh really? Anyone ever try not to bake the cake but to steam the cake. My mom back home is selling steamed brownie cake
sometimes, i'll use the microwave to \"cook\" the cake.
super fast....for a small cake, 2-3 mins will do, unlike using the oven, which needs 45 min or so.

Okie, here are the pix.
A simple chocolate cake from Green's pre-mix (no artificial colours and flavours).
Verdict: The oldies liked it. They said it was not too sweet. DH said it would be even more nicer with vanilla ice-cream.

This is the pre-mix I used.
Just to share that I had to whisk the icing powder and butter to make the chocolate icing. I went against the instruction by also adding low fat milk as I did not want the icing to taste too buttery. I really liked the outcome.

DS helped me add the sugar pearls and coloured dragees.
