        HI,

Just to share my experience with ICL, which I have put my kid in since the beginning of this year under their crash course for K1. I have to admit that my girl make tremendous improvment in her reading skills. Before that, she can only read words from the Ladybird series Level6, which I trained her with. But ever since attenting the course, and learning all the phonics sound, she has been trying to read every word that she sees. Of couse many a time, the pronouncation is wrong, but at least she tried to read, and gave me a chance to guide her by breaking up the words.

And the best part is that she will come back and \"teach\" me all the blending sound, which I have never learn before. It's really fun to work with her as I tried to twist my tounge and round my mouth, trying to get the sound out.

The lessons seem very fun for the kids as well. The children have homework to do, but the teacher will reward them with tokens for their efforts. Sometimes, they would have mini competition and they can win extra tokens. The child can then use the tokens to exchange for things. eg 1 token for a sweet, 5 token for jumping rope, 10 tokens for pencil case, 20 token for toys etc. At first my girl would exchange whatever token she won that day for sweets, but I have since taugh her to \"save\" up for the item that she wants. In a very different way, I have taught her the concept of saving up....

I have no regret in sending her there. The teacher not only give them almost 100% attention (since only 6 students), but will not hesitate to spend another 30 min with us, parents after every lesson to provide feedback on our child's development, behaviour, attitude. And there will not have any teacher movement unlike in commercial school whereby turnover is high. In this way, I can be assured that my girl's strength and weakness will be well managed by the same teacher for the 2 years she is with her.

I have also sign my boy up for the 2010 enrollment 😄
