So there's no minimum grade required for exemption in CL in DHS for Yr 5 & 6? Just a pass C6 will do? I thought in some of the SAP schools you need to score at least B4 otherwise you'll be required to take some form of CL in Yr 5/6.
btw, how abt RGS, any min requirement for HCL?? -
WeiHan:
What is DH's criteria to do 4H2 in yr5 and 6?
for 4 H2, students must obtain GPA > or = 3.2
for 4 H2 and 1 H1, GPA> or = 3.6 -
Augmum:
I read you writing that DHS is going to tighten promotion criteria. Please inform us if the school implement the new promotion criteria. Thanks In advance.WeiHan:

So is the B4 for HCL based on school exam or O level result ?
There are only 4 SAP schools with yr5 and yr6 now. RV just implemented this criteria of requiring at least B4 for HCL. Are you refering to HCI and NYGH? -

This is a good question but I don't know. I think the students should ask their teachers. I think is abit harsh that if the student don't get b4, they won't be allowed to do 4H2. Some students can get A1 for all subjects but C5 for chinese.

That's (%distinction) less than RGS....unbelievable. A non-SAP school turning the tables on a SAP school.%Distinction for 2010 O level HCL is 49%(2009 is 50.6%).
95.3% Pass for 2010.(2009 is 93.8%)
Ever since the decision to remove Chinese from the computation of A level points for university entry, there's just no more motivation for students to excel in CL. I really agree with what RV's principal said in zaobao:

Then I wonder why RGS did so well. Do the majority of RGS' chinese students take HCL?

That is why I also say in a previous post in this thread. I think it is more of attitude. Balancing isn't quite the issue here as we will expect most of the brightest students to do well in every subjects that they do. -
