Budget 2011

I hope the govt would channel some of the extra revenue from the IR to help those with long term illness like cancer, kidney failure, etc that require expensive medication and treatments.
Plus more subsidies or investments into Green technologies -
and financial assistance scheme for medical treatment, like IVF, etc for those parents having difficulities to have babies.

In view of 20% increase in maid salary, reduce the maid levy!
-
My wish is :
1) Extend childcare leave from 6 yrs old to 12 years old. My co. does that currently but not my hubby’s. So I think this is something realistic and co. is willing to consider. When kids are in primary school, parents still need to take leave for exams to guide them (eg. SAs, PSLE, P1 1st few days at school, etc…). So 12 yrs old is not unrealistic to ask for.
2) Favorable tax benefit for working father. Currently working mum gets alot of tax rebate that tax payable is manageable. But if the working father still has to pay so much every month, then it’s not savings for the entire family. In most family, the man is earning more than the woman so shouldn’t fathers be allowed to pay lower taxes?
3) Reduce maid levy for family with children. This is especially so when minimum pay for Indo maid is going up to S$450. -
I hope parents with children and elderly we are entitled to more childcare leave and annual leave to care for them when they are unwell.
Hope Government would fully enforce all companys to operate on 5 days week so that we can have more time with children & family as right now everyone is spending more time on work.
Family with maid to have lower levy n more rebates for property tax, income tax & TV license. -
daddy2007:
Man can claim income tax rebate for childcare & maid !
I second that in addition I wish goby can extend the rebate or help to household that has more children to support, meaning looking at the total house headcount to give rebate rather than solely looking
at total household income -
ksme:
Reduce gst to 5%! That will help everyone to lighten our load.
Yes reduce it to 5% and at the same time give us another 5% GST rebate. -
I hope not giving all some goodies and announcing GST to be UP in the near future.

-
Reduce domestic helper/maid levy!!!
