      hi all,

i am interested to get some pineapple tarts, kueh lapis and sugee cookies for CNY. Please share with me if you got any recommendations.
There is a decent & very reasonably price kueh lapis from Oishi Bakery.
$29 for a the same medium-sized kueh lapis at bengawan solo.
      $33 for prune lapis.

No need to order, just walk in to buy.
They are located at Beauty World 4th floor or West Coast Plaza basement 1.
Remember to get from them and stamp your loyalty card for a free loaf of bread! 🙂

Incidentally, the large kueh lapis from bengawan solo is $50 this year.
      crazy!

Pineapple tarts .... there is one at Tanjong Pagar mrt station but at this point they don't have any for sale unless you pre-ordered.
tasty by my standards (which is quite low as long as it is not full of jam or smell of planta margarine).
called Joyous Patries, tel 9618 1238 for orders / delivery

For home made pineapple tarts - buttery, closed kind- you can call Ms Lim at 96372303.

My neighbour makes great lapis - plain, durian, prune- but she's stopped taking orders for CNY.

I've tried so many brands/types of pineapples tarts in my last xx years, I'm sooooo glad I found this one by chance.

For those who live in the East, I think this is a jewel find.

          A shop called
          Ah Gek Cookies
47 East Coast Road (near the row which sells Katong Laksa).
          Tel: 62478693

Pineapple tarts (open face kind) that melts in your mouth, not overly buttery and moist pineapple!! Moist pineapple very important!
          $18 (I think for about 30 pieces.)

BTW, i'm not related to them in any way.....

Inside Funan IT mall (near coffee bean) there is Taiwanese "feng li shu" called Sunnyhill. Fab! You can check out camemberu’s blog for more details regarding where they source for the ingredients. Not cheap, a box of 10 costs $23 but they are big and packed with gorgeous pineapple filling. There is a link to Sunnyhill’s website and the local contact on the camemberu entry

Usually I get mine from Glory along east coast road. It is directly opposite the vet. Ah Gek is good? Ok, tomorrow I go try.

Tried the glory one before... not bad. Last year, got my stash from guan hoe soon and lecafe (as recommended by autumnbronze). Thinking of trying tarts from different stalls this year.

Btw, i find the lecafe ones rather pricey even tho they are yummy. Apparently they are so popular tat they started taking orders since the mooncake festival time last year :yikes: :faint:
