If you could, would you decide on a 3rd child?

Gecko:
Yr #3 is of the same age as mine..my first 2 are 8yrs and 7yrs..so definitely a big gap between them and #3, who somehow came along when we least expected it. Nonetheless, he is the precious of our family as all of us simply adore him.Me and the wife just had a third about 8 months ago.
It is a joy but tiring. My aging knees are not up to the strain (can't get up after squatting and bathing the kid .. bwahaha  )
She came a year later than we would have liked (elder kids are 8 and 5) but important thing is that she is here. We wanted a bigger gap between the first two and the third.
Financially, we can just about do it but we watch what we spend carefully.
Will no. 4 come? Unlikely but one never knows ....
Gecko
Mentally tired as age is certainly catching up on daddy and mummy, but luckily the older siblings are able to take turn to entertain him.
Financially do-able..not as if we get to buy branded stuff, dine at expensive restaurants, but certainly hv to be frugal a bit, and spend wisely.
Like you..not sure if we will go for #4, but for now, we are contended and feel blissful.. -
WaWa:
I think in general if your love for children is so much and if you like to see a big family gathering when you are old.I will say go for it.. That's how I convince myself. As I'm born being so in-secured, I often find myself worry about this worry about that.actually financially we are ok, but we are first time parents, so we do not know what is ahead of us.. And Im the type I want to give my children the best. Eg.piano class, tuition, oversea studies if can't get into Singapore uni.. etc...so I will be very sad if I can't provide these for them..I would love to ....
But don't dare ....
Cos I am sooo afraid of getting another special needs child .... so very afraid
This is what heard somewhere from a friend, if u hVe five kids they might be able to play recorders, four kids maybe guitars, three kids piano, two kids cello.. But if one kid, he can be a conductor .haha...sounds funny but in a way quite make sense too!
Hi wawa,
What is your child diagnoised? If it's autistic, mr brown first born is autistic
but their second and third child are extremely health and bright. -

:congrats: Gecko and wifey! :celebrate:
Hubs and i just had our #3 too... last month.
It was unplanned... or rather... ... it WAS planned by hubs all along!Gecko:
Age is catching up with me too.. Had a tougher and more challengingIt is a joy but tiring. My aging knees are not up to the strain (can't get up after squatting and bathing the kid .. bwahaha  )
delivery and still recuperating from the pain of childbirth and of course the
joy... of which one of the joys is ... of waking up three hourly..
Hubs doesn't dare say a word of complaint (yet!) for he asked for
it! Our son would wake up and give a smile seemingly to indicate,
\"I'm wide awake now...\" And everyone would no longer feel sleepy no
more. :rotflmao:
Baby is so far guai & very cute... so i suppose it's nice having a new baby
around the house especially with our girls quite big oredi... elder one
coming 10yrs old and younger one coming 8yrs old by the next half
of the year.Gecko:
Yeah.. important is she is now here. While there are quite a few advantagesShe came a year later than we would have liked (elder kids are 8 and 5) but important thing is that she is here. We wanted a bigger gap between the first two and the third.
of bigger gaps btwn children, women have to come to terms of having to start all
over again (all the breastfeeding and baby routine thingies) after already settling
down with the older kiddies.Gecko:
With only hubs' working for so many years, we have managed fine so far and evenFinancially, we can just about do it but we watch what we spend carefully.
got to travel short trips within the year.. with #3 now, i guess we'd still do okay,
but yes, i do agree that we do watch what we spend on these days.
Gecko:
:siam: I siam first orh.. :siam:Will no. 4 come? Unlikely but one never knows ....
Gecko
Yes, ultimately... no one will ever know.

Dear Buds,
Many thanks and many :congrats: to you and the hubs.
:udawoman:
I would like to add that our third is a girl. Honestly, that was great because she won't have to do NS and would be working for a couple of years by the time I finally retire. Just right!
The pregnancy was tough on the wife. Spent a month plus in hospital from about wk 29-33+ due to some bleeding. Damn expensive stay that was. All said and done, DD2 is doing well.
The wife is on no pay leave at the moment. The big decision is whether she wants to quit her job a not. I am personally okay with whatever she wants.
I never thought I would be a father of 3 but it is a great (but tiring) ride so far.

While others are considering whether to have #3, I am coming to terms with not having #3.

I won't even consider...it's just too challenging to have #3, the education is just too challenging and expensive. -
